Will do ...still on the case :)
I'm just loving coconut lately. I use coconut oil now exclusively instead of butter. On toast, frying potato chips...whatever. Butter was just about my favourite food for my whole life until a few months ago. Never thought that would change. But coconut oil is so...
My first experiment was kinda successful - enough to encourage a second attempt. I used canned coconut milk, which separates into watery and creamy components in the can. I used the whole can, and it was setting but didn't reach full set in the time yoghurt usually does. I started using it in...
Thanks for a great thread Madhuri !
I do lots of cooking, and experiments. Lately I've been working out how to best use raw organic cacao beans, ways to use coconut oil, and how to make cheese from homemade yoghurt.
The yoghurt cheese (which I guess is a variant of panir) is excellent stuff...
I've been a beta tester for some time now.
The thing is, it's not so much loading a hive app as it is deleting the self-other dichotomy app.
That is to say, from an m-theory perspective, the universe is a priori a polymorphic gestalt.

I defy any meditator to maintain any kind of awareness whatsoever during surgical anesthesia. Unless it is ketamine or propofol. I am a well practiced meditator, and can maintain continuous awareness under most conditions. However it is IMPOSSIBLE with some anesthetics. There is not even any...
I have experienced that a few times out of the blue so to speak. Delightful, simple, easy.
What do I mean by that ? Example - during a sojourn alone in the wilderness. After a few weeks of silent solitude (apart from talking with birds and possums) there was a glorious morning...before 'I'...
Again, thanks for such a comprehensive and thoughtful reply. It is bedtime for me here in Australia, so I won't trivialise your response with a quick reply.
I will do my best to answer how my view has similarities to yours - but that will require some inspiration to answer at all, let alone in...
The observer is the 'I' NowhereMan is referring to I think. So you may be at crossed purposes.
As far as I can tell, the difference in view is that you consider the observer to be continuous and eternal, whereas NowhereMan considers the observer to arise and pass away.
Experientially, I am...
I think NowhereMan is saying that the I which knows the body (or the aggregates if you prefer) arises and passes away, but is not an entity.
Is that about right NM ?
intentions,
ultimate purpose,
desire.
creeping into materialism via crafty recasting of vocabulary
I'm not arguing for or against materialism or mysticism BTW
I'm just fascinated by the two faced dances people do :)
Bioalgorithmicplasmagenesis ha ha
My point remains - even many scientific and technical thinkers reify evolution and use language (in ordinary social conversation) which is deistic, and def indicates a worldview (possibly inadequately examined) involving 'design' in the long established sense...
Many words take on new meanings as we pretend to dispose of mystical inclinations and magical thinking.
Design implies intention.
If you don't mean intention, use another word.
No. Design implies intention, and intention implies a conscious entity. You said evolution designed the brain, and I pulled you up on that because I have seen countless examples of this attribution of intention re evolution. You may not realise it, but your choice of words reveals closet deism !
"Of course evolution and genetics have designed the brain such that its activity creates the process which we call the mind"
Evolution and genetics design stuff ?
That is a theistic belief masked as materialism.
The theory of evolution does not include intention. That is more like pantheism...
