Awesome, thanks. That's right up my alley.

Black hockey player called "Dark guy in the middle'

"Dark guy" isn't an inherently racist phrase, but you have to admit that being identified in a group photo based on a superficial attribute would probably be annoying, and is certainly unprofessional. It would be like a paper identifying Dolly Parton as "the one with the massive hooters" instead...

I must have missed the outrage.

    Babyhood to adulthood

Don't be coy. You said a biology student wouldn't be interested in Newton, which is completely absurd. You didn't say anything about what one might find in a specific textbook for a specific class. Unlike creationists, educated people tend to read more than one book. ;) Otoh, if you care...

Not true. A science education requires courses in a broad spectrum of scientific and mathematical fields. I don't even think you can choose a specific major without at least a year of general science and other courses, but I would look that up if I wanted to be sure. No discipline works in...

You can't memorize science, FearGod. It's a method, not a doctrine. You can either accept that it is an effective way to learn the truth about the world, or not.

Further to the above, never let anyone tell you atheists aren't humble.

A lovely explanation. Thank you! I learned something today. Although I've often described myself as a tubular entropy machine. Life in, compost out. That's what I'm basically here for.:D

Black hockey player called "Dark guy in the middle'

With that particular photo and caption, "(middle)" would have gotten the point across just as well as "(the dark guy in the middle)". But it is the Sun, after all. Not for the most educated newspaper reader.

This is Canada. We use last names only for hockey players. Anyone who doesn't immediately recognize them, know their name, team, number and stats is deported to the US, because they deserve no better than baseball.

Taking pictures of children in public is illegal

ROFL! I agree with this comment wholeheartedly. I knew if we kept at it long enough we'd find some common ground. ;)

Nope. Just Skwim so far, although lewisnotmiller is gilding the lily a bit now in an attempt to get through to him. :D

Randomness over a huge sample results in roughly 50/50 odds. Good planning for humans would have produced far more females than males, given the basic mechanics of human reproduction.

Stupid is being ignorant about a subject, refusing to learn, and then demanding that others give your ideas on that subject equal consideration to those of experts in the field. Not believing in some higher power running the show is neither stupid nor intelligent. You'll find plenty of idiots...

Apparently, since most species that have ever existed are extinct, and since most genetic mutations are neutral or negative in terms of survival and reproduction.

I know that, and you know that, but creationists were taught at church that evolution is an affront to god, and they tend to believe whatever they were told at church.

    Babyhood to adulthood

I've never spoken to a creationist who is not convinced that accepting the fact of evolution would completely undermine their religious faith.

Taking pictures of children in public is illegal

No, "creepy" is an honest acknowledgement that the behaviour in question is abnormal enough to disturb most people and make them feel justifiably concerned for their children's safety, as is very plainly evidenced by the fact ordinary people called the cops on all three men. You might as well...

Taking pictures of children in public is illegal

It's not "emotional" to call someone who is taking non-consensual jerk off photos of children to a creep, a pervert and / or a pedophile though. That is genuinely creepy and perverted, pedophilic behaviour. It's the kind of creepy and perverted that makes people phone the police. I'm only...
