It doesn't take hard work. It's rather easy. So I share your concern.
However, it is not the individual that I denigrate but the irrationality. It's much the same as those poor Republicans. What really irks me is the dogmatic intrusion into a secular society.
The marriage question is not the point of any, less they be theocratic in leaning. Marriage always has been a civil, secular matter in this country even from the times of the Puritans.
The point is that "marriage" is a Christian cover for the exercise of castigating the "abominable". The...
I'm afraid there is nothing new in The God Delusion nor in Harris's books. That same arguments have been around for centuries, The difference is that they are said in different ways. In reading Dawkins I recognize the same arguments I use or understand. Dawkins however writes in a nicer modern...
LDS takes a share of the blame. It was the huge amount of money they invested in successfully passing Prop 8.
It was divisiveness in the beginning that brought us to to todays fight for rights. Sadly I don't remember the name of the nightclub police raided time and time again. That brought...

Democracy has the burden of protecting the rights of minorities. It can not do so with just a vote. It must have judges of what is a right.
We have more! The Mayflower Compact would be stupefying today and your particular religious practice may just well be "voted" out of existence.
The question can not be answered until a perspective is established. Same-sex married people have the same "pros and cons" as any other couple with the added "con" of being considered inferior by those who oppose it and thus degrading marriage in general.
"Marriage" is just the "flag" that is...
Quite an action from a loving Christianity. Whatever happened to "turn the other cheek"?
Ah it was freedom of worship not freedom of speech.
It was in response to the massive monetary investment LDS made in defying freedom of worship. Good Christians were married and want to marry in...
