Blood, gore and psychosis depicted in vivid detail, in movies, comics and paintings are some of my favorite kinds of art.
Also like Roman and Renaissance marble sculptures. :)
Same here.
Here in Calcutta, the lowest temperature in winter is around 11 to 13 degree celcius, which is not enough to keep me cool and i end up sweating like a pig. lol. When im indoors i try to stay in my boxers. :D
Well, its good to have variety in this world. Black and white, good and evil, hot and cold etc.
Atleast then the world won't become a boring place.
But within this variety, when the black overshadows the white, (i.e. when famines, poverty, diseases, etc. becomes too much in this world) so that...
@Viswa Well, not all those who earn, exploit nature or torture living beings. Only greedy, self-centered people do.
I understand what you're trying to say here. That begging reduces evil karmic effects of the donator and maximises the merits.
But imagine, if there remains no wordly people on...
If you had to choose between two places on Earth, one hottest and the other coldest, which one would you choose? Which place would you choose to live in, for the rest of your life?
Lets start with the hottest place on Earth. The Ethiopian Desert. Here the temperature rises to a maximum 60...
I think God is omnipresent but at the same time aloof and doesn't intervene. This is the reason why many feel abandoned by God. (Myself included).
And i think even in Hell, God's spirit is present but as i said before, he doesn't intervene, forgive and rescue his children from this Hell.
If you ask me, it is THAT (which existed before the manifestation of Rama, Vishnu, Shiva, Devi, etc.) who created/manifested this world ... Not Rama. ;)
@Viswa Even though many renunciates live on the donations and offerings of other people, it is not the perfect way of living one's whole life (by begging and by depending on other's wealth and so on.)
You said the renunciates didn't consider life hard because donations always reached them.
Do...
I'll try to explain this in my own simple words. And i'm sure most of what i'm about to write here, you're already familiar with that. :=)
When the Advaitins use the term "Non-Duality" they simply mean the absolute reality (the totality of what really exists) is just one single infinite field...
If visiting temples or attending pujas doesn't appeal to a person, then one doesn't need to do such things.
If one still does it (i.e. unwillingly) just to please others in society, then such a person is not being genuine. :=)
I know some advaitins worship personal gods. Even Shankara did.
But its not something i'm interested in.
I'm more of a hardcore, staunch non-dualist. Or atleast i'm trying to be. ;)
I don't think my religion Hinduism prevent its followers from hearing music of christianity or islam.
And i like Christian Choir music. Its so divine and angelic. Also love hearing to the Islamic prayers that comes from far away distant mosques, especially in the evening time.
:)
People around me are mostly into visiting temples and worshipping idols. And don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with it.
I respect their beliefs and practices. But i also want them to know, that its not my path and that they shouldn't force me to take part in their rituals.
Often i am...
When i was around 8 or something there were a few kids in our neighbourhood (all older than me) who used to make fun of me and push me around. One of them even hit me in the face once, when i was at his home, since his mother used to take tuition clssses.
I think they treated me like this...
Could you please explain what you mean by this Bubble/Pond? Is it the empty shell of the universe or something else.
And this EGO that comes after the bubble, is it the cosmic ego? Is there a sanskrit name for it?
It would be good to know the source/text from where you've extracted this...
So it seems from your comment that Brahman's shakti Maya, is simply
a power of manifestation,
(a power that projects false images)?
Am i right?
When Brahman with the help of its maya, projects false images upon ITSELF , then IT appears as this universe of names & forms.
... Advaita too speaks...
