Oh come on - it is self explanatory - for us Sikhs - it is a reference to the RIshis of ancient India that mostly always had a beard and the addition of the weaponry by the 10th Master creating a Sant-Siphahi or Saint-Soldier. The images of all the 10 Masters are represented as having beards.
@Evangelicalhumanist
And of course even in those texts - there are some internal nuances - as an example a quote from the RigVeda that I consider to be true even after 3500 years
RigVeda Chapter 10 - stanza 129 - the hymn of creation
6 Who verily knows and who can here declare it, whence it...
@adrian009
Strictly OT
I have taken Trialblazer's arguments apart piece by piece in many posts - she makes IMO dishonest and disingenuous statements that contradict themselves as an example "God wants us to know him and love him" followed by "No one can know what God wants" in another post - I...
Oh so you are a prophet now?
IMHO that is sheer idiocy on your part - I oversee care of individuals with an average of 5 chronic illnesses and an average of 14 medications - their time with us is roughly about 5 years give or take
Get your damn facts straight before you make unsupportable...
Other than a statement in John 14:6 - asserting that - you got nothing - prove it in a manner a non biased observer can appreciate otherwise I can throw this back at you - from the Gita
BG 7.21: Whatever celestial form a devotee seeks to worship with faith, I steady the faith of such a devotee...
Two issues with your reply
The prophecies in your book are vague and do not have a time frame - there have have been many "dates" for "end of the world" scenarios by members of the Christian faith which have miserably failed to materialize - so no, I do not believe in them. If you know better...
And you would not be wrong in doing so - Lord Krishna says the following in the Gita (if you are wondering why this is coming from Krishna - many consider the two to be emanations of the same divine - placed in forms that humans can appreciate )
Gita 7:6
etad-yonīni bhūtāni sarvāṇītyupadhāraya...
@Deidre @oldbadger
I have posted this before - but the apparent dissonance between a supposedly loving god and the reality can be partly perceived (? understood ? resolved) thru the dialog between two characters in an Indian mythological TV show
Two of perhaps arguably the most powerful...
These images are disturbing - but they serve to show that not everybody can be bought
They were offered riches, a comfortable life if they converted their religion - they declined - at a horrible cost to themselves - mercilessly tortured to death
@icehorse
The Vedas said that ~3500 years ago and it is still a fact -
RigVeda Mandala 10:129 - the hymn of creation (underlined emphasis mine)
ko addhā veda ka iha pra vocat kuta ājātā kuta iyaṃvisṛṣṭiḥ |
arvāgh devā asya visarjanenāthā ko veda yataābabhūva ||
iyaṃ visṛṣṭiryata ābabhūva...
Have we? My memory must be slipping :) - sorry I do not recall
I have said, I guess, often enough - that I believe but I do not expect anyone else to - I have no proof to offer - just my personal faith and experience :)
To the logical side of my mind - reincarnation is the only way our crazy...
@ChristineM
He has been told that many times and yet he continues to assert beliefs and opinions as the truth without ever providing a shred of verifiable non-biased proof outside of ramblings from the Qu'ran - many of which are easily debunked by anyone with common sense and no obligation to...
