    Why is Christ's sacrifice needed?

To be fair, it was concocted by primitive minds.

Some thoughts about the usual motivations of Christianity and Islaam in practice

It's no surprise that the early church forged stories. Heck, the biggest forged (fiction) story is the bible itself.

    Stephen Hawking dies

His consciousness has faded to non-existence, but at least his body can return to the star-stuff from whence it came.

    Why is Christ's sacrifice needed?

Much in the same way an angry, abusive human's anger needs to be, hmmm? God continues to seem to have been made in man's image rather than the other way around, for the deity is always portrayed as having weak human emotions. I suppose primitive minds were incapable of creating a deity that...

In Trying Times, Freedom Of Speech Is Fragile.

Speech should not be limited, but when it comes to such an atrocity as hate speech there should be consequences. Punishing the hate speaker, after all, is not censoring his freedom of speech but rather holding him accountable for the caliber of his speech.

    Dick's and Hypocrites

If someone can't legally drink until the age of twenty one, why are gun nutters getting all upset about a store having raised the legal age of purchase of a firearm to twenty one? The more gun nutters throw tantrums against common sense, the more it seems they want these shootings to continue...

How well can we really know someone

It's best to have no expectations in order to minimize one's chance of disappointment; at least that's how I approach social interactions.

"Not to share one’s wealth with the poor is to steal from them"?

Indeed, yet it is an indication of an unhealthy society to ignorantly accept that to effect necessary and progressive change is beyond one's control. It seems to me certain institutions are cruelly informing the general population that they must simply accept the way things are and just live...

    Memorial of Jesus’ Death

Well, according to scripture, he didn't really die (he "rose from the dead"); therefore, there's no loss to mourn.

What Do Enlightened People Know that Others Don't?

Nothing, for personal enlightenment is as self fulfilling and prone to unreasonable emotional bias as adherence to a personal religious belief.

    Certainty

Makes sense to me. Then, naturally, my own certainty tends to not stem from the realm of science, nor any non-secular source.

Isn't it better to be atheists?

People, in general, are uncomfortable with not knowing something. Rather than be intellectually honest with themselves, they create these fictional mythologies to provide a false comfort; the falsity of the comfort is evident in the fact that it derives from an unreasonable untruth.

Isn't it better to be atheists?

People often discover the answers they seek in religion because its main objective is to provide false comfort through imaginatively conceptualized answers that circumvent knowledge and logic. There are many reasons that atheism is on the rise, but the main one is that religion becomes less...
