The scriptures obviously mean the Bible. What's their to prove? We're not talking about the Qur'an here. If you read 2 Timothy 3, you would understand what he is talking about:
"Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate...
Because they were commiting a sin in ignorance. These people truly believed they were putting a "false prophet" to death. They were blinded by their zeal and ignorance of God's Word. Even Jesus' disciples who knew He was the Christ denied Him, yet, He forgave them.
I agree 100% with your post. And when you look around and see how many churches have the mark of truth on them, you will find only a handful out of literally thousands of churches. It is documented that in the end times there will be a famine for God's word.
If God has a beginning, then He was created. If He was created, then it certainly would demean His value. Maybe the human mind cannot grasp this idea of "no beginning" in the flesh form because God did not intend us to know; but in the spirtual form, it's a whole different matter.
For example, the twelve "signs" of the zodiac go back to the foundation of the world. Jewish tradition, preserved by Josephus, assures us that this Bible astronomy was invented by Adam, Seth, and Enoch. Proof of this is found in Egyptian & Greek mythology, heroes, the creation of the Sphinx...
