Damn atheists! They just can't keep their ideas to themselves

Sure, I don't have a problem with it either, but I am saying that objections aren't always religiously motivated.

Damn atheists! They just can't keep their ideas to themselves

Minor critique, but people have also posited that the army should be able to determine its own policy in who they let in, how they organize troops, etc. I'm not a military guy so I don't know how much a danger husbands fighting with wives or gay lovers fighting together are, but for this...

Damn atheists! They just can't keep their ideas to themselves

Yes there are cases where it is blatantly hypocritical, but on the other hand some atheists mean "keep it to yourself" to mean "stop trying to use the government to pass laws based on your religious ideology". Since atheists have no such religious ideology, the same cannot be said about them.

    Is God a Utilitarian?

Whenever you ask if anyone is a utilitarian you have to ask what their utility function looks like. Knowing the contents of the bible, I'd be willing to bet that god's utility function would place Being Worshiped as the One True God as a higher good than anything else, including human happiness...

    Abortion, What about it?

While this is sort of beside the point there is a culture out there that does not understand the link between sex and pregnancy... (I can find you a link if you wish.) But more on track, there are so many babies up for adoption already it seems better to maximize their chances of life instead of...

Has anything shaken your choice of atheism?

I'm really curious how all the atheists in the world will come to believe some being as a deity unless he displays really awesome powers that defy the laws of physics at every turn. After that, what would god do that would make others believe him to be the real god, and why would we not just...
