there is no limitation on a person of a different race from entering a hindu temple, apart from the ones set by the temples on rules. there should be no limitation on you, especially as you are not going there to watch or as a tourist, but to worship.

Does anyone here follow Sai Baba?

i dont understand this question too. by what i wrote before, i meant that the so called religion of hinduism, does not mind if one questions the fundamental belief systems, if there was one. IMHO, the question According to what is irrelevant, as this philosophy or way of life is not bound by...

Sure ChrisP and Arkangel, i would be happy to be on that thread Moses - i cannot classify my belief into the impersonal god head vs the iconic, as i see that they are all one and the same at the very basic level. my PERCEPTION of the truth is that Krishna was human so also were many of the...

Does anyone here follow Sai Baba?

In Hinduism, one could say just about anything, about any philosophy so if Sai Baba says he is god, well so be it. it is from a western perspective that some might find it annoying or dangerous, for a hindu (again a western classification) it does not matter. cheers

    Creationism in the hindu Dharma

The story Before time began there was no heaven, no earth and no space between. A vast dark ocean washed upon the shores of nothingness and licked the edges of night. A giant cobra floated on the waters. Asleep within its endless coils lay the Lord Vishnu. He was watched over by the mighty...

I hope this is not a disrespectful question

not at all sarcastic arkangel - i agree with most of the views expressed here, just felt that what i could say might be redundant. however now at the risk of being repetative, i agree that most hindus consider ISKON as a part of hinduism, just like the kali cult, saivism etc. my belief (more...

The Bhagavad-gita Any Questions Feel Free To Ask......

i agree with you there about the loss of the warmth of a loved ones presence. The Gita does not cover the emotional part but only the philosophical. in this religion (i use the word for the lack of a better one) there is very little that guides emotions, except probably for the bhakti.
