I'm not sure anything I could say would help at all. There are many passages you could read which again were written long after his death by people who probably never met him but if you can find no fraud then I think that is what you wish.
In what sense?
That he rose from the dead and rose others from their otherwise dead state or that there is some tale of a man? I know you asked about Jesus and if he ever lied but did he? What do you think? There are so many odd statements to step around like here: Matthew 18:19-18:20 -...
Was Jesus real? That is a loaded question. Was there a son of god who rose from the dead or turned water to wine? We can clearly say no. These are impossible fantasy acts that are unproven and not easily replicated in labs. Clearly no miraculous son of the creator of everything has ever existed...
There is no logical or scientific basis for an afterlife belief unless I am woefully behind on current neuroscience.
Consciousness and free will both do seem to be an afterthought explanation to the actions we take based on our genetic and upbringing code.
There are many disconcerting things...
If you start with not knowing and investigating you could only conclude we're not sure. Instead you found a story you found convincing and have accepted it as your truth. Your choice, not mine. God bless whatever god you believe in. (Thor, Loki, Odin, Jesus, Yhwh, Satan or the will o wisps)
He presents only a few myths in the book. I am not sidestepping them. I started with the first one. I understand you think he is a pseudo scholar but that is just an ad hom so far as I can tell. He presents some myths as he sees them:
The very idea that jesus was myth is just ridiculous...
The best fiction always contains a bit of truth but I don't think Nailed really discusses the OT at all. It is primarily about the NT. As I initially asked I would love to know what you think he got wrong and then take some time to research and reply rather then defending against every ad hom...
I'm not a fan of Fitzgerald but his arguments in this chapter seem straightforward. Can you show me how they are underhanded? I am not always aware of the subtle tricks this hucksters play when trying to refute the holy word.
This sounds fun. (I have church in 6 days and have some time to discuss matters) So lets start at the beginning: The very idea that jesus was myth is just ridiculous... clearly everyone knows jesus was alive and died for our sins and any idea that he didn't and it was just a fairy tale is just...
You do want people to discuss their ideas and beliefs even if you disagree with them yes?
You have shown you believe them to be so and not much more. I believe some people would say the entire bible is just a pack of outrageous lies as well as the book of mormon and the koran etc etc... But...
