Ammon Bundy and five others arrested, one is killed, in Oregon.

Authorities tell others they are free to go, but must leave quickly.

I've noticed that our media still isn't referring to a politically motivated and armed group who made threats to kill as a terrorist group. We call animal rights and deep ecologists terrorists over less.
I am surprised that there have been only six arrests given the presence of multiple armed groups that showed up.

As of this morning, there are now 8 under arrest with more to come, and the siege is not over, although some others have left the compound.

It's amazing that a bunch of armed people are able to take over federal property for weeks without authorities doing anything about it.

People could drive out if they want, friends could come sing for them, they could get food, etc.

Any other type of group of people doing this would have been shut down within the day.

As I understand it, they're trying to handle the situation with minimum carnage.
There's something to be said for making a conflict so boring that it evaporates
peacefully....relatively so.....avoiding another Waco type debacle.

I don't wonder, I know. The media would never have put the term terrorist inside quotation marks, and they would all be using the word, and they would have stormed the gates, shot to kill, and we'd be reading about seven deaths, likely more, and no arrests.

If history is any guide, the Muslims themselves would've handled it differently. First they would have declared the area as part of the Greater Caliphate. Then they would declare sharia as the only valid law. Lastly, they would have attacked all their non-Muslim neighbors.

I honestly do not disagree with you based on what we've seen, but let me play devil's advocate a wee bit here with this.

What is the difference between a "freedom fighter" willing to die for his/her cause versus a "terrorist" doing much the same? As a friend of mine is fond of saying, "It all depends on whose ox is being gored". We see references to "Muslim terrorists", but how often have you heard references to "Christian terrorists"?

As a case in point, many on the right have gotten on Obama's case for not saying the words "Muslim terrorists" or "Islamic terrorists", and yet what would they say if he ever said "Christian terrorists"?

FBI just released video of the shooting. That guy wasn't surrendering, he was making his last stand.
I called it too. When I first saw Finicum in an interview I thought, "whatever happens with this, I bet that guy doesn't come out alive."
