welcome aboard....yeah what does your title say??:D
This phrase is recited before doing any daily activity such as reading the Qur'an. The meaning of it is: "In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful." :)

Thank you all for your welcomes!

I would ususally say here "May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you" but since this is a mixed faith forum then I guess it doesn't apply. :)

Thank you everybody!

That is actually the traditional, muslim greeting. :) It's quite beautiful, don't you think? :) Of course in Arabic it will mean a whole lot more because Arabic is actually quite a complex language, in that it would take pages of English to explain what you could in just a few letters of Arabic. It is quite difficult to translate into English which is why we get so varied translations of the Qur'an. :)

May the peace, the mercy and the blessings of Allah be upon you all. :)
