2012: What are your thoughts?

I have been hearing and seeing much talk and discussion about 2012 and what is to happen. I for one have no idea but would like to believe that there is some great change that is coming.

Do i think the apocalypse is coming? Maybe
Could it be World War 3? Maybe
It could be a number of things we will have to wait to find out.

I have just found it very fascinating that many cultures throughout history have all made reference to this point in time as being significant of great changes.

This thread is not intended to disprove anyone or offend anyone but rather I am interested in hearing what people have to say on the topic.

I don't think anything significant will happen.

If something does, it will be a coincidence, because no one can predict the future.
That's just life.

Other WEBBOT Past Predictions that came true:

the 2001 anthrax attack on Washington DC
the East Coast power outage in 2003
the earthquake which lead to the December 26 2004 tsunami
it is even credited with predicting hurricane Katrina and the devastating events that followed.
the stock market crash starting Oct 7, 2008
October 7 2008 to February 19 2008 will be filled with emotional intensity - Start of Stock market crash
In October Global emotional release event begins – largely economic

One of the first accurate predictions took place in June of 2001. It predicted that a life-altering event would take place within the next 60-90 days and the effects would be felt worldwide. It based its prediction on "web chatter" and the prediction proved accurate when the Twin Towers fell on 9/11/2001.

This are all just coincidence? maybe

This is only one example of predictions made that have come true.

Well i think something is going to happen. Many groups/civilizations have predicted that something IS going to happen. For example:

Hopi Predict a 25yr period of purification followed by End of Fourth World and beginning of the Fifth.

Mayans Call it the 'end days' or the end of time as we know it.

Maoris Say that as the veils dissolve there will be a merging of the physical & spiritual worlds.

Zulu Believe that the whole world will be turned upside down.

Hindus Kali Yuga (end time of man). The Coming of Kalki & critical mass of Enlightened Ones.

Incas Call it the 'Age of Meeting Ourselves Again'.

Aztec Call this the Time of the Sixth Sun. A time of transformation. Creation of new race.

Dogon Say that the spaceship of the visitors, the Nommo, will return in the form of a blue star.

Pueblo Acknowledge it'll be the emergence into the Fifth World

Cherokee Their ancient calendar ends exactly at 2012 as does the Mayan calendar.

Tibetan Kalachakra teachings are prophesies left by Buddha predicting Coming of the Golden Age.

Egypt According to the Great Pyramid (stone calendar), present time cycle ends in year 2012 AD

Not sure if this is accurate but I am under the assumption that Christians also refer to this same time frame as the second coming of christ in which god will show his power to the non-believers?

What cultures specifically, and what specific predictions have they made for 2012?

Mayans, Cherokee, Egyptians

All of there calenders end in the year 2012

Nostradamus' writings also refer to this time frame

American culture through the use of a program WEB-BOT has also predicted significant changes occurring in this time period.

If you need a more detailed explanation, google it.

Prophecy has a funny way of creeping up on you. Many times, its only after the fact that you realise a prophecy has been fullfilled!

Personally, i believe the final antichrist is already in power...and i believe that the obomination of desolation has taken its place in the 'holy place' so.....its all downhill from here.

My calendar ends in December.

Hey, remember when everyone was freaked out about the year 2000?
That was fun. :D I was only 10 years old back then.
Even so, I wasn't worried about the end of the world.

Well i think something is going to happen. Many groups/civilizations have predicted that something IS going to happen.

Very well, but:
(1) What, specifically, do they say is going to happen?
(2) When, specifically do they say it is going to happen?
(3) What is the source for each prophecy?

A lot of nonsense has been circulated about this kind of thing. In most cases (supposed Maori prophecy, for instance) I'm not in a position to know anything about the subject. However, I'd like to see some solid sources for all these wild claims, especially when I read things like this:

Hindus Kali Yuga (end time of man). The Coming of Kalki & critical mass of Enlightened Ones.
According to traditional Hindu belief, Kali Yuga lasts 432,000 years, and we're only a little more than 5,000 years into it.

Whether the prophecies of various civilizations are worth taking seriously is another question, but in all this apocalyptic fever I have yet to see any convincing evidence that such prophecies even exist.

Do you have any serious source for that information? By "serious source" I mean scholarly source, not the vague claims of end-times enthusiasts.

Nostradamus' writings also refer to this time frame
Again, I'm looking for specific data. Not vague claims. If you claim Nostradamus' prophecies support this nonsense, say which prophecies specifically. What, exactly, do they say? In what way do they point to 2012?

If you need a more detailed explanation, google it.
I've done so, and all I've found is a lot of wild claims like these. Nothing concrete, nothing specific.
