How can you say that to a little girl?
I think you guys missed some very important from the story.
Yeah, everyone was taken a back by the girl with scars on her face, but you do have to realize that neither Mississippians nor KFC patrons are uncomfortable being around people that look that much better than them.
This is the problem. Both the grandmother and the reporter had good reason to spin.Oh, I know that. But in this case all I've ever been able to find was, 'Grandmother said' . No eyewitness account, no statement by staff, nothing. The only thing that seemed slightly relevant was another KFC franchisee saying he knew these owners, and in 50 years of ownership, they've never had a problem. If you find more, I'd be interested.

So if what actually happened was grandmother getting into an altercation with another customer over a perceived slight and asked to leave as a result we wouldn't know that and nobody has a reason to much bother with the truth. Certainly not KFC, they just want the story to go away.
That is why I don't bother with this sort of media circus.

I am surprised KFC would ask ANYONE to leave the premises, considering how far they have fallen down the fast-food chain in recent years.
Now you've done it....I need to try KFC (after a 40ish year hiatus) again.I'm surprised anyone is still on the premises, considering KFC doesn't sell anything one would consider food. Especially not food fit for consumption by a 3 year old.

People just jump to conclusions. I find the whole thing sad ... the vicious dog, idea that she gets stared at, and then the public response from around the world. Yesterday I read that some witnesses said other kids were staring, Grandma asked KFC to ask the kids not to stare, but wouldn't kick them all out because of her complaint, then things escalated, with Grandma being removed. After that she went straight to the press .. allegedly. So who knows?
It did remind me of the first time my 3 year old son saw a person with dwarfism. We were in a bank. Yes he stared. That's what curious kids do. I couldn't get him to stop. But the lady just smiled at me with a knowing smile, "I get this all the time."
Regardless, the support is at 110 000 + now... More Than $100,000 Raised For Medical Bills Of Girl Who Was Kicked Out Of KFC
So.
Has there ever been a media story giving evidence that this ever happened?
Or did Grandmother just hit the guilt lottery? Did she lie for the 6 figure payout that she got?
Does anyone know how much of the unrestricted funds she got were spent on guard dogs now that she is rich?
I don't know and I don't know how to find out.

Is it any rougher than the "deep north"?Deep South is a rough place.
The latest news is that KFC could not determine what actually happened by their own internal investigation, and have hired an external investigator to try to figure it out. Surely there were witnesses. I'm sure those findings will be published eventually. In the meantime, Grandma has lawyered up. Now she has the money for that.

The grandfather and girlfriend were charged for child endangerment.
Dayam.
Grandma's lawyered up. Now that she has a hundred thousand dollars of other people's money.
Is she planning on taking the dog owner for everything he has, or is she doing the profitable thing and hitting the deep pockets? I'm sure her lawyers will give her profitable advice.
