That they are kids who are 18, doesn't mean they should not be fully responsible. Only that they are kids. I really thought my statement suggesting that their age did not excuse their act was clear.
I was just disagreeing with your assertion that they are kids, not that you were excusing them.

You don't use the term "college kids." You would disagree with the statements of people who remark about the "kids" in war when referring to the 18 and 19 year old
who were drafted in vietnam? I am pretty sure that kid is commonly used in our society to refer to this age grouping.

No, I don't. Kids are generally younger than 13 to me.

As I stated, I provided "an example of how the "alt-left politicizes these kind of incidences, especially when whites are the perpetrators" - in the Duke case, a black student was the accuser.
I see, you still haven't demonstrated an example of what the media did in reference to the Duke case.

Wow, well then I imagine you should probably familiarize yourself with the use. People certainly use the term in that manner. Perhaps, if you were aware of the use, you would understand why people refer to them as kids or youths.

From the link: "Fox News was the sole national television news outlet to reveal Mangum's photo following the dismissal of the case, although MSNBC and 60 Minutes revealed her name. Several major broadcasters did not publish Mangum's name at any point, including ABC, PBS, CNN, and NBC."

I understand that others use the word in that manner, but I do not.

What does that have to do with anything? Are you saying all media outside of Fox is racially biased because they intentionally withheld showing a photos of the girl? Who cares, you arrived at that conclusion based on that?

I was precisely answering your concern that I "still haven't demonstrated an example of what the media did in reference to the Duke case." Our interpretations of what the media did might differ.

So, you understand why people call the perpetrators of this, what appears to be, hate crime, kids?
I understand that others use the word incorrectly. I do not agree with the application of that label in this case.

What's the purpose of calling them "kids"?
