In the qur'an it says there are seven heavens:
67.3] Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent God; then look again, can you see any disorder?
[67.4] Then turn back the eye again and again; your look shall '~ come back to you confused while it is fatigued.
[67.5] And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps

41.12] So He ordained them seven heavens in two periods, and revealed in every heaven its affair; and We adorned the lower heaven with brilliant stars and (made it) to guard; that is the decree of the Mighty, the Knowing.

surely this is enough to show the qur'an is flawed ?
Please pick up an astronomy book and show me some evidence of seven heavens. I think you wont find any.

Personally the seven layers of heaven should be corresponding to the seven chakras or energy centres in each human being. Those who become conscious of their energy rising upwards through these chakras enjoy accordingly on that level this garden of eden. Heaven is not elsewhere, it is HERE-NOW.

However it is unfortunate that the same has not been understood by the followers and so it is taken that heaven is a place one reaches after death. There is nothing as death it is only a change of form.

...could refer to the seven planets? they were supposed to be all travelling around the earth, each in their own crystal spheres, or so the ancients thought. the seven heavens would be (in order of how fast they move across the background stars)...mercury, luna, venus, mars, the sun, jupiter and saturn.

Sorry what evidene is there for these "energy centres", why are there seven and what do you mean by energy?
I was taught in physics that energy = capacity to do work.
Do you have a different definitionof energy to physics?

So, kindly ask questions on science or theology and expect responses on the same lines.
If you can prove 7 layers of heaven scientifically, then surely the *Energy Centres* can be equally proved.

Im not claiming 7 layers of heaven exist . In fact I think they don't. My thread was there to challenge Muslims on this issue in the Qur'an. They did not meet the challenge, but you have attempted to do so. Had they come up with an answer I would probe them on it. They didnt, but you did.

For all enlightened people that is the paradox BUT still the impossible has always been attempted to by many of them and many never spoke about IT, simply cause they knew the difficulty of converting NO THOUGHTS into THOUGHTS as thoughts bring about DUALITY and a whole series of problem starts.
Possibly those who spoke much, got into more trouble and this 7 layers of heaven appears one of them.
Personally Heaven, hell and everything religion talks about is summed in 2 words
HERE-NOW.
