7 layers of heaven

Friend skydivephil,

I have no idea what you are talking about. Please read through my statements and read through yours, do you feel they have the same level of clarity?

Should have understood.
NOW do.

Incidentally, has anyone seen the new girl who moved in on the east side of layer five? Va-va-voom!
Is she one of my 62 virgins?

BTW - if I get a bunch of virgins when I die, do I have to leave them alone so that they remain virgins or do I get to screw them and once they expire another one pops into place?

I don't know, but anyone who thinks having sex with a virgin is heaven, probably hasn't had sex with one.

In the qur'an it says there are seven heavens:
67.3] Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent God; then look again, can you see any disorder?
[67.4] Then turn back the eye again and again; your look shall '~ come back to you confused while it is fatigued.
[67.5] And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps

41.12] So He ordained them seven heavens in two periods, and revealed in every heaven its affair; and We adorned the lower heaven with brilliant stars and (made it) to guard; that is the decree of the Mighty, the Knowing.

surely this is enough to show the qur'an is flawed ?
Please pick up an astronomy book and show me some evidence of seven heavens. I think you wont find any.

Response: To the contrary, the 7 heavens refers to the 7 different layers of the atmosphere. (The stratosphere, ionosphere, etc.) Please pick up an astronomy book and testify as witness to your own error and one of the many miracles of the qur'an.

You know, that's another thing. If you're on Earth and you experience something particularly pleasant you call it "heavenly." What do you call it if you're already in heaven and you experience something particularly pleasant?

Um, Fatihah, if the seven heavens refers to the 7 different layers of the atmosphere, how is is that "and We adorned the lower heaven with brilliant stars and (made it) to guard". Are you suggesting that "brilliant stars" exist in the atmosphere?

Response: Yes. Are you suggesting that there are no stars in the atmosphere?

Yes, as a matter of fact I am. Do you know anything at all about something called "space"?

Given that the nearest star to Earth is a tad under 93,000,000 miles away, does put it a tiny bit outside the earth's atmosphere -- by a tad under 93,000,000 miles.

Response: It's still in the atmosphere.

Um... no, Fatihah, it is not.

For what it is worth... the Mighty Wiki sayeth...

The atmosphere becomes thinner and thinner with increasing altitude, with no definite boundary between the atmosphere and outer space. An altitude of 120 km (75 mi) is where atmospheric effects become noticeable during atmospheric reentry of spacecraft. The Kármán line, at 100 km (62 mi), also is often regarded as the boundary between atmosphere and outer space.

Response: Simply amazing. You're telling us that there are no stars in the atmosphere? There's the statement. Where's the proof? This I have to hear.
No, Fatihah, I am not falling for the idiocy of your argument on this one. I will leave my comments, as they stand in post #31. Have a good day.

Now here's the challenge. PROVE what I have posted is NOT accurate, then we will talk.

Good luck on that, you'll need it.

Response: From post 31, we can clearly see that you've presented no proof that there are no stars in the atmosphere. The word "stars" is not even there in the whole post! So your decision to limit your rebuttle to just post 31 is very wise.

And yet you have provided no proof whatsoever that starts are WITHIN the Earth's atmosphere. Keep digging, sire. Until you do that, I won't even entertain forming a serious rebuttal.

Response: Your own links in your own post show otherwise.

The atmosphere ends at 62 miles above the earth's surface. The nearest star is 93 million miles away. Do you really need someone to connect the dots for you?

Hint: 93,000,000 > 62
