A Fool's Paradise

Unveiled Artist

Veteran Member
Looking for hopes in forgotten dreams
In pages by elders, dust on poetry
Hundreds of years worth of prophecy
Centuries to find its meaning

Words translated from scribed pose
Trusted as Truth. No other words shown
Possession of dreams we do not own
Reality, to us, unknown.

We, as he, stuck in faith
Hopes, wishes, dreams, fate
Within illusions, he awaits
A paradise for fools.
~Carlita

As we conversate about our faiths or points of view it dawned on me. If all our beliefs and views were shown false (by whatever means, is not the point); And we depend on these values to live, what would happen to us when we see the truth? When our religious, cultural, societal values are stripped, how would you survive?

Are we just people in a fool's paradise?

I lost my "faith" about 45 years ago.. I have humanistic values. I need no god.. I am not running around killing people.. I'm a decent, happy person. I love to love. I give to charities... what am I missing here?

I know.. right now, I'm missing a glass of good wine... cheers!
