A- for AOC saying about trump "it's all about the con"

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
To be fair, I have only circumstantial evidence that she does good research. And to be fair, I agree with most of what she says - again, given the waters in which she is forced to swim. And, as for the "world ending", well depending on your definition, she might well be correct. If in fact Greenland and Antarctica have melted past the point of no return in 10 years, then the resulting rise in sea level could easily displace A BILLION people from there homes and that could well be a society-ending event.
She is one of the most poorly misinformed persons I've come across in a long time in government, and that's saying something considering the state that government is in nowadays.

The woman is completely living in her own little world that's been created through social media and consequently groomed forthright.

No. That's Diana saying I don't like her.

You don't want the "LDS" talk. I happen to be a southern Idaho LDS. Now that might not mean anything to you, but southern Idaho Mormons tend to be sheepherders, farmers, ranchers and railroaders. We are NOT, as a rule, mealy mouthed.

Perhaps you should look up some stories about one of our apostles, J.Golden Kimball, who was born about thirty miles from where I was. Now HE spoke like a typical Southern Idaho Mormon.

If I had followed his example, my opinion of OAC would have been asterisked out.

the trouble is, I have been infected by Utah and California Mormons, who are far more polite. Therefore 'idiot' is about as far as I will go.

LOL, A few years ago, I was staying in Alco, Idaho overnight while on Vacation. I was very new to the church and absolutely devoted. When Sunday came, I dutifully attended the Sacrament Service there and the Bishop asked me why I was there, and that during service? My answer was that I was from Portland but felt obligated to honor God on Sunday seemed to mollify him. That was when I stupidly thought that I had a future as a Mormon.

I had attended Sacrament in Halfway, Oregon, Enterprise, Oregon, and Indianapolis, Indiana and other places with never a problem. Gee, I hope that God is not as blunt with them as they were to me.

I suppose if were we going to be all nit-pick-ily precise, we could say that even widespread thermonuclear war that wipes out all but a few primitive lifeforms is also NOT the end of the world.
That would arguably be "the end of the world".
But a slightly warmer planet....lower in temp than prior epochs....isn't the "end".
It would just cause some geographical shifts in population, farming, & other activities.

One cannot make her correct with strained novel definitions of words.
Old cliche....
If we call a tail a "leg", how many legs does does a dog have?
Still 4.
Calling a tail a "leg" doesn't make it one.
To me, we're clearly embroiled in a semantics argument, why is that so hard to agree with?
I'm actually trying to extricate myself from your semantic gymnastics.

But she's well informed if one changes the definitions of the words she uses.
Remember, we live in a post-truth post-dictionary age.

All countries are oligarchies. It's just a matter of who's pulling the strings and benefiting.
But we get to elect ours.
And there really are differences between them.
Many don't believe this though, because politicians appear to be
corrupt & serving other interests. But they (those who've held
office before) are doing exactly what they were before being elected.
Like it or not, the people voted their approval.

It strikes me that you're trying to both be "right" AND extricate yourself. While I think your last post is technically correct, it also defies common sense.

There's a difference between being right, & merely trying.
When you understand it, then you too can be the former.
