A Guy Says He Had a Heart Attack and Went to Hell in 2016. Here's What He Saw.

“I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy,” Johnson recounts in the viral video. “I don’t care what he did to me. No one deserves that.”

Johnson says that immediately after his heart attack in February 2016, his spirit left his physical body and went down to hell, entering through “the very center of the Earth.” Though he says “the things I saw there are indescribable,” he did his best.

Johnson claims he saw a man walking on all fours like a dog and getting burned from head to toe

Johnson also heard music in hell, including Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”

Music in hell.

Maybe Johnson’s story sounds far-fetched to you. But scientists say that while many of the most publicized NDEs have a positive spin, negative NDEs certainly occur, too. The experts just aren’t entirely sure how—or why.

Researchers—especially those from the International Association for Near-Death Studies—believe NDEs most likely happen due to a change in blood flow to the brain during sudden life-threatening events, like a heart attack, blunt trauma, or even shock. As your brain starts losing blood and oxygen, the electrical activity within the brain begins to power down. “Like a town that loses power one neighborhood at a time, local regions of the brain go offline one after another,” one expert told Scientific American.

During a NDE, your mind is left to keep working, but without its normal operational parameters. Whether simply an oxygen shortage, some sort of anesthesia, or a neurochemical response to trauma, as hypothesized, the NDE leaves those who experience it with a real, sometimes traumatic memory. We may not know how that memory happened—and unlike Johnson and his trip to hell, victims may not want to recount it ever again—but it could change their life.

I've never known what to make of these near death experiences. Most I've heard always talk about a bright light, but this is the first time I've heard of someone going to hell. Or maybe it was just a dream?

Do you think these NDEs are just dreams, hallucinations, or could there really be something to it?

Oh my, did I say that!

I suspect they are just reflections of what goes on in individual minds and as to any history of beliefs or not, given they seem to vary enormously apart from the tunnel and bright light phenomena, and probably have about as much meaning as many dreams. But where the latter often do have some significance - being from a reasonably functioning mind, unlike these NDEs so often.

And this guy being a priest might be just one more of those who will bend the truth to further their agenda.

Johnson also heard music in hell, including Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”—traditionally upbeat tunes. Only this time, demons were singing the songs to “torture” people.

This would actually be Hell for me - as to why I usually have to mute the TV when such comes on - any modern stuff that is mostly. :screamcat:

My dad was hit across the head with a brick, smashed his skull and was in a coma for a month. During that time he died 3 times, the brilliant nurses and doctors brought him back. He says that while he was out he met god 3 times and the only reason he was allowed back was each time he challenged god to a game of poker, if he won he could return. To this day he thinks he's alive because god is a lousy poker player.

What i think is it's a dream, a last gasp of the mind before death. But I'll never convince my dad

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Music in hell.

Of course it's dreams. It's all conjured up in the head.

Interesting how NDEs sound so similar to DMT trips - they also can be positive or negative experiences with god, spiritual entities, and spiritual planes of existence like heaven or hell. I suspect DMT releases similar chemicals in the brain that it releases when it's dying

I don't know anyone who has had a near-death experience, and I haven't either. I have, however, witnessed a person's spirit temporarily leave their body and then return. This has happened to me several times at hospitals and nursing homes. I was present in the nursing home when my maternal grandmother died, and I saw her spirit depart her body seconds after she died. I never told her I was a psychic medium who could communicate with the dead while she was still alive. So she was taken aback and confused to realize that now that she was a spirit, I could see her and converse with her. She told me before she died that she was at peace with death, and she reassured me once more in spirit. She stated that she saw a light and that she saw my grandfather standing in the light. I advised her to go see him, and she did. She crossed over peacefully into the spirit world. My grandfather (her husband) died as well, and his reaction to my being able to see and make contact with him in spirit was the same as my grandmother's. Not only was I present at their death and spoke with them in spirit, but I was also aware of their impending death before they died. And that wasn't the first time I was aware of a relative's death but wasn't present to witness it. I sensed when my husband's maternal grandparents died. I told my husband at the time, but not anyone else in his family.

My maternal great-grandfather was very sick and died when I was 12 years old. I saw him shortly after he died. He died at home in his bed, surrounded by several loved ones. At the time of his death, I was staying with my paternal grandparents in the next town over. It was late, and I was in bed. I suddenly woke up, and my great-grandfather was standing in front of my bed, smiling at me. I got out of bed and went into the living room to tell my grandparents that my great-grandfather had passed away. They didn't know what to say at first and just stared at me. My grandmother told me that I was dreaming, and she told me to go back to bed. So, I did as she said and went back to bed. I sat up in bed and just watched my great-grandfather. He was sitting on the edge of my bed when I came back into the room. We didn't say anything to each other. I didn't know what to say anyway. We just stared at each other. I looked at the clock on the nightstand when I left the room to tell my grandparents that my great-grandfather had died. It was 9:15 PM. I heard the phone ring about fifteen minutes after I returned to the bedroom. I heard my grandmother answer the phone, and I could hear my aunt on the other line.

My aunt has always talked in a loud voice because she is hard of hearing. She called to tell my grandmother that my great-grandfather had passed away approximately 15 minutes earlier, and my aunt asked my grandmother to tell me in the morning. The bedroom I was in was right off the living room, so I could hear the entire conversation. I got up and tip-toed to the door and peeked out through the crack in the door. I saw the look of shock on both of my grandparents' faces. I heard my grandmother quietly whisper to my grandfather, "How did [my name] know that he passed away when she wasn't there?" My grandfather just shook his head and whispered back, "I don't know." I never heard them mention what happened again. It was if it never happened.

My paternal grandmother passed away in June 2010, when I was 37 years old. She had passed away a couple of days after I saw her last in the nursing home. I knew that she had died when my uncle called to tell me and my husband. My husband and I attended her funeral at the church where she had been a long-time member. As I entered the sanctuary, I noticed my grandmother standing behind her coffin, looking around at her family and friends, as well as the other people who were already seated. As she was looking around, her eyes met mine, and she smiled. I smiled back at her and went to sit down with my husband. He leaned over to me and whispered in my ear, "You can see her, can't you?" I nodded yes. I didn't speak to her until we were at the cemetery for the burial. I was concerned for her because she hadn't crossed over yet. After the service was over and everyone else was standing around talking, I caught her eye and nodded to her to indicate that she should follow me. I walked quite a distance away and stood behind a tree so that I could speak with her without drawing any attention from the other people at the funeral. Before I could say a word to her, she looked at me and quietly said, "I knew it," and I understood what she meant. She apologized to me for not talking to me about my psychic abilities earlier in my life, and she said that she regretted not intervening on my behalf when she knew about what I was going through at home. She said that she needed to explain, and I listened to her explanation. She asked me to forgive her, and I told her I had, which was the truth. I wanted her to be at peace so that she could cross over and not be stuck as an earthbound spirit. We spoke for a couple of more minutes, and then she crossed over. I haven't seen her spirit since. I've sensed the deaths of others I know, but the most heartbreaking was when I sensed that a friend of mine had tragically died. She took her own life (read my previous post here).

Still trying to tickle @ChristineM's funny bone...assuming she has one.

At a marriage retreat, the instructor spoke of the importance of knowing what matters to each other.
“For example,” he began, pointing to Ole, “do you know your wife’s favorite flower?”
Ole answered, “Pillsbury All Purpose.”

For @ChristineM....
Ole and Sven are standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.
Lena walks up and asks what they're doing.
“Ve are supposed to find da height of da flagpole,” says Sven,
“but ve don’t haf da ladder.”
Lena takes a wrench from her purse, loosens a few bolts, and lays the pole down.
Then she takes a tape measure from her pocket, takes a measurement, announces,
“Eighteen feet, six inches”, and walks away.
Ole shakes his head and laughes. “Ain’t dat just like a voman!
Ve ask for da height and she gives us da length!”
