A huge difference in pollution before and within coronavirus

This is a Satelite photo over China where one can see the difference in pollution before the coronavirus and now. Maybe we should try to keep it on this low level of pollution?

It would be nice if they did keep it that way

But I think in China caring for the environment is the very least of their priorities

When I was in Beijing it was the first picture! Even though it was ten years ago my throat starts hurting when I think about the smog!

Oil is almost below $20/barrel again. We may see 20% unemployment in a year but at least gasoline will go back to $1.13 per gallon like it was in 2000:

Between 2000 and 2001 my salary did not go up 300%. Pizza in my town went from $8.00 for a large plain to $13.50.

Hopefully enough people actually like the cleared up conditions to be more conscientious of their polluting activities going forward. Unfortunately, it tends to be the few who screw it up for the many anyway in a lot of situations.

I'm not surprised that there would be a noticeable difference in pollution. The street I live on is the main route from towns coming to the city, and rush hour traffic is down to a slow trickle.

Converted to USD: here in Norway gasoline costs 1.51 USD now

In my youth when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, gas was 29.9/gallon or even lower.
