A Little Bit About Me

Jimmy

King Phenomenon
  • I was due Christmas Eve but arrived on Dec 20
  • My mother Pauline was going to name me Jesse but chose James after my grandfather.
  • My kindergarten class in 1980 had 12 boys not including myself.
  • My mom met a carpenter and was with him for 10 years.
  • When I was younger, I got into some trouble with a man named Michael.
  • I have a son named Gabriel and My dad James had a daughter named Gabriel who is my stepsister. My son’s mother and my stepsisters mother chose these names and never met one another.
  • The love of my life was named Olive. I remember one day when I was 25 I was driving next to an art store and I thought to myself I would like to meet a nice girl, a redhead and sure enough I did with Olive shortly after when I was working at that art store. She wasn’t a natural redhead though, haha. We’re no longer together.

I was born on Sept. 25. I'm a Libra, sun, moon, and ascendant.

My mother, Shirley, would have named me Andrew if I'd have been a boy.

I met my best friend, Tammy, in kindergarten in 1990(we are no longer in contact, sadly).

My mom and dad were together 30ish years, but it wasn't a happy marriage for most of it.

I've known some Mikes, but I've never been close with one.

I have sons named LeeAnder, Ares, and Yudhishtira.

I've been married to my husband, Sam, for 13 years.

I am living in a senior apartment complex 100 yards from where I went to kindergarten ... 60 years ago. The little cottage is still there, but it is now unused.
  • My mom met a carpenter and was with him for 10 years.
I am a woodworker and have been all my life. And I was a Chicago sculptor for over 20 years.
  • When I was younger, I got into some trouble with a man named Michael.
The first time I drank alcohol I was 12 years old, and I absolutely fell in LOVE with the feeling of being drunk. From that day on I couldn't get enough of it. Being drunk was like being free.

I finally 'hit bottom' at age 35, and landed in AA. I have not had a drink since then ... it's been over 30 years.

I created artworks instead of children. They are all out in the world, somewhere, now. Except for the couple I still have.
  • The love of my life was named Olive.
I've been rebuilding a boat for my retirement. It's named "Olive".

Mine was a real redhead. Unfortunately my alcoholism eventually drove her away. And by the time I finally sobered up she had married someone else.

Boat named olive, nice. You only have one day sober. I had 20 yrs and slipped up. I’m back on track now. It was only for one day though no pun intended, thank god.

I was conceived in a tent after a Rolling Stones concert.

I was born at an early age 9 months (ish) later on 18th April 1970

My parents had a farm so i was raised to the farming life. (Trust me, mucking out cow sheds before school is not fun)

They also were hippies so i was more or less allowed to run free most of the time.

I think that upbringing taught me a lot about life and responsibility.

At around age 5 I became friends with a girl named Michael. She stood by me throughout all my school (and church) troubles, she is still my best friend almost 50 years later.

I have an eye problem that kiboshed my schooling until i was diagnosed at 14 and prescribed special remedial eye glasses.

Determined to get rid of the "stupid" label i taught myself to read and write and caught up with schooling enough to earn a place at college and then university.

At uni i met my future husband and got married on 18 April 1995.

Hubby and I started a computer graphics business after uni. Computers (PCs) were a new thing and computer graphics didn't exist. So being first in the game it became a successful business.

We have 3 children, one of each ;-) . Really it's twins, boy and girl and a younger girl.

In 2014 we received a crazy offer to buy the company. We just had to accept.

We sold the company, packed up and retired very early to France in 2015.

Talking of Mike... At one time i got into serious trouble with a guy of that name.

Early retirements nice.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
The doctor asked my mom if Monday was fine for me to be born, and I had to be delivered with forceps. Oh well.

I was born in New Orleans, LA and met my former "roommate" in Virginia many years later. It was wild!

The love of my life was named Michael. And he looked nothing like anyonne I had been attracted to up to that point! He was gorgeous, though. And a handful, but of course he was! We were not at all opposites. He was like the male version of me, I guess.

Both my grandmothers were natural redheads but I am not, though I do have a lot of red in my hair. Or did. Whatever. I still find random red hairs in my hair sometimes.

I retired when I was around 61.

I was having a nightmare that an alligator was chomping my leg when my Ma woke me up saying “Jimmy Jimmy Oh my God what’s happening”? I said what do you mean thinking to myself how does she know what I’m dreaming? lol. Then I thought I must’ve been grunting or something. Then I looked at her as she was sitting in front of the tv on the couch saying “Jimmy what’s going on”? I got out of bed to see what she was looking at. That was Sept 11, 2001. We both watched as the twin towers were attacked. Ugh. From one nightmare to another. That was only one of a handful of nightmares I’ve had.
