I've recently finished the internet quiz "proof that god exists" and I really enjoyed it. However at the end of the quiz they have a page that argues that Christianity is the one "true" faith. It also posits some questions I think it beleives will cause any beleivers of the Religion in question to "come to their sences" and realise that Christianity is the one true faith. I found this interesting and thought i'd post the questions and see what answers I get from the members of those religions whom i know are on this forum, possibly see if anyone "comes to their senses" :p Please note that most of the innacuracies and disparing lumping together of religious traditions are those of the person who runs the website and not mine.

Adressed to Hindus and People of similar beleifs:

Q1: If as you claim God is not personal, is your holy book, the bhagavad gita, a personal revelation from God, and, if not, why should anyone believe it?

Q2: If any distinctions between you and a truck are illusory, why do you look both ways before you cross the street?

Q3: If all is one, and there are no distinctions, am I not in Moksha already?

Q4: If your worldview is beyond rationality and human experience, how do you know about it?

Q5: Is not anything you try to tell me about your worldview based on rationality and your human experience?

Q5: If I was unable to live up to your moral code in the past, how will I be able to 'try harder' now?

Q6: If I have broken this moral code in the past, how is the guilt of my past deeds dealt with?

The Group listed as "Christian Counterfeits", it includes Muslims, LDS-ers and Jehovah's witnesses.

Q1: What is the manuscript evidence for the multitude of discrepancies between the Mormon bible (which teaches for instance that Satan offered to redeem mankind, that Adam was baptized by immersion, and that a prophet named Joseph Smith would appear), and the Christian Bible.

Q2: What is your answer to the teaching in Revelation 22 vs. 18 that anyone who adds or takes away from the Bible will be dealt with plagues and banishment?

Q3: How do we know that the Mormon version of the Bible is true?

Q4: What is the evidence that the original language of the Book of Mormon "reformed Egyptian," ever existed?

Q5: Would a true prophet of God have been convicted of 'glass looking,' (a con of placing a 'magic stone' in a hat, placing one's face in the hat, and by that means locating hidden treasures), in Bainbridge New York, on March 20, 1826, as Joseph Smith was?

Q6: Does your organization claim to be a prophet of God?

Q7: Since Deuteronomy 18 vs. 20 -22 describe a false prophet as one who gives a prophecy which does not come true, how do you answer the prophecies of the Jehovah's Witness of the end of the world in 1914, and the bodily return of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in 1925?

Q8: What is the manuscript evidence for the discrepancies between the Jehovah's Witness' 'New World Translation' Bible and the Bible of Christianity?

But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

Q12: How do you account for the claim in the Koran that Mary the mother of Jesus was the sister of Aaron since they lived hundreds of years apart? (Surah 19 27-28)

Q13: Do you believe, as stated in the Hadith book of Sahîh al-Bukhârî Volume 4, Book 55, Number 543 that Adam was 60 cubits (90 feet) tall?

Q1: If as you claim God is not personal, is your holy book, the bhagavad gita, a personal revelation from God, and, if not, why should anyone believe it?

I don't know if it is or not. Regardless of where it came from, it has profound wisdom in it.

Q2: If any distinctions between you and a truck are illusory, why do you look both ways before you cross the street?
Because we don't want to die just yet. :D Besides, even if there are no distinctions, that doesn't mean we are fully aware of everything that's happening in the world right now. That's simply not possible for the human brain to do.

Q3: If all is one, and there are no distinctions, am I not in Moksha already?
No. You have to realize it, first.

Q4: If your worldview is beyond rationality and human experience, how do you know about it?
It is not. Different people experience God in different ways.

Q5: Is not anything you try to tell me about your worldview based on rationality and your human experience?
No. It's based on what I know at the moment. It is subject to change.

Adressed to Buddhists, Confucians, Toaists and others.
Q1: What gives Buddha/confucius,lao tze, or your holy books authority?
The wisdom contained within. These men (don't know about Confucius, though) were enlightened Sages.

Q2: How do I know that Buddha is the enlightened one, rather than Confucius?
What Buddha taught were lessons that mostly agreed with other enlightened Sages. I am as yet unfamiliar with Confucius.

Q3: If anyone can get to 'heaven' by just being good, who determines what 'being good' is?
That is not the goal. Besides, all religions have pretty much the same idea as to what "being good" is.

Q4: Where did the universe come from?
I dunno. I currently agree with the Big Bang theory, but I'm open to the possibility that it is incorrect.

Q5: If I was unable to live up to your moral code in the past, how will I be able to 'try harder' now?
Know the moral code, first. If you fall, get back up and try again.

Q6: If I have broken this moral code in the past, how is the guilt of my past deeds dealt with?
By recognizing what you mistake was and why it was made. Then try to correct it.

Little.

Q2: What is your answer to the teaching in Revelation 22 vs. 18 that anyone who adds or takes away from the Bible will be dealt with plagues and banishment?
That verse was referring only to that book alone, and not any other, Biblical or not.

Q3: How do we know that the Mormon version of the Bible is true?
We don't.

Q4: What is the evidence that the original language of the Book of Mormon "reformed Egyptian," ever existed?
Little. Though I've never heard of it.

Q5: Would a true prophet of God have been convicted of 'glass looking,' (a con of placing a 'magic stone' in a hat, placing one's face in the hat, and by that means locating hidden treasures), in Bainbridge New York, on March 20, 1826, as Joseph Smith was?
I dunno. I never heard that.

Q6: Does your organization claim to be a prophet of God?
No. My religion is my own, and I do not claim that it comes from God.

Never heard of such a prophecy. I wonder why...

Q8: What is the manuscript evidence for the discrepancies between the Jehovah's Witness' 'New World Translation' Bible and the Bible of Christianity?
Little.

Q9: Since the Koran (Qur'an) acknowledged the words of Moses, David, and Jesus as authoritative, how do you account for the conflicts between the Bible and the Koran such as the Koran's claim that Jesus was not crucified?
The Qur'an claims, likely truthfully, that the Torah and Gospel were corrupted.

Q10: Since the Koran was written around 600 AD, a time when current manuscripts of the Christian Bible were available, what is the evidence that the Christian Bible has been corrupted SINCE then?
The fact that there are many contradictions between the various books within the Old Testament, and between the OT and the NT.

Q11: If Islam claims to be a peaceful religion, how do you account for the verses in the Koran such as this one from Surah 9:5 "Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
Dunno. Some of the Surahs were written during times of war, and may not apply all the time but only to idolaters who were attacking Muslims.

Q12: How do you account for the claim in the Koran that Mary the mother of Jesus was the sister of Aaron since they lived hundreds of years apart? (Surah 19 27-28)
Different Aaron. :D

Q13: Do you believe, as stated in the Hadith book of Sahîh al-Bukhârî Volume 4, Book 55, Number 543 that Adam was 60 cubits (90 feet) tall?
[/quote]

I don't acknowledge the hadith as authoritative.

I should go there and take the quiz there. ^_^ Could you post a link to the website?

Q1: What gives Buddha/confucius,lao tze, or your holy books authority?

The individual who wishes to follow the wisdom contained in it's pages. Oh and the books are not "holy" either, at least not IMO.
Q2: How do I know that Buddha is the enlightened one, rather than Confucius?
There is no limit on the number of enlightened people there can be. I say both were enlightened as both have great wisdom to offer
Q3: If anyone can get to 'heaven' by just being good, who determines what 'being good' is?

First off heaven is a state of mind not an actual place but ignoring that and going by the context of the question I'd say by weighing the consequences of your actions. If a certain action will help more than it will hurt then it is good.
Q4: Where did the universe come from?
There are several theories, the main one being the big bang which is the one I currently hold, however I don't know for sure.
Q5: If I was unable to live up to your moral code in the past, how will I be able to 'try harder' now?
Well first you have to WANT to live by said moral code. After that it's a matter of being more self-aware and being honest with yourself about when you are following it and when you are not.
Q6: If I have broken this moral code in the past, how is the guilt of my past deeds dealt with?

First off put aside the guilt as it is a waste of time. Guilt initially helps us to realize we have done something wrong but after that it has served it's purpose. The best thing to do is to acknowledge that you made a mistake and make a conscious effort to do things differently in the future.

hmm.... I guess it didn't work. I'm still senseless:D

I can't post links yet because I havn't posted more than 15 times yet  but just google "proof that god exists" and it's the first website to come up.

I first looked it up after being dropped off at home by one of my friend's dads who happens to be a Dawkinist. I had a nice day but the end was full of shouts of "Pink Sky Fairy!" as I left the car. I know Dawkinists "Have the right to badger religiously deluded people!" but sometimes you really just want to be left alone.

here's the link: Proof That God Exists

Though I'll warn you in advance this guys got it set up so that if you don't give him the answer he wants he throws you for a loop and says "if you can't change your mind your journey ends here." The thing is the choices offered are so black and white as to be sickening(at least to me anyway.) I played along to see what would happen. It just brought me to here: Proof That God Exists: main.

Just to give you an idea of how ridiculous this is the first question he asks you is if you believe absolute truth exists. Unless you say yes it does it just takes you to a page that repeats the answer you gave and asks if this statement is false or "absolutely true". Get it? Brilliant huh? Please a blind man could see through that ploy:cover: and he doesn't even realize that it doesn't work that way. Oh and guess what, if you click on absolutely true it takes you back to the same question and he says "this is not a glitch, think about it" almost like he's speaking to a child. gah... I better stop ranting now or I'll never stop:p
