A Open Letter To Rosie O Donnell

What's that supposed to mean?

I would say that you have a right to have those feelings and then I might even ask you why you feel that way.
Really?

That is such a different response from:
You people make me sick. This is not a contest over who has been discriminated against more. Everyone in this world has been discriminated against one way or another even if they don't see it. Most people just refuse to believe it still happens.

Does it make you feel good to sit around comparing stories hoping yours is the worst?

You will receive no pity from me.

No race is immune to either being racist or to experiencing racism. This is a function of the individual and not the race.

I was the only white in my Junior High School and yet I only felt ostracized by just a few. For every person who hated me, 10 loved me and a 100 could care less what color my skin was. The hate encountered was often not based on my skin color, but on my affluence: even though I was the child of a single mom who's only income was from teaching. I vividly remember talking about having climbed up a mountain while on vacation and the unbelievable back lash that caused, especially for one girl.

lol! Yes, fear. I wasn't accusing you of being a racist. I was accusing you of refusing to acknowledge racism when it is present.

Yes, the two are related to each other, since denial of racism allows racism to continue, but it certainly isn't so simple as calling you a racist. sheesh.

so you think rosie is racist because she said something stupid.l'll acknowlege racism when its present. l found no racist remark in ching, chang, chong danny devito...give us a break.

Dude, you are too preoccupied with the fear of being called a racist. Get over it. I never called you a racist. I never called Rosie a racist. That would be too easy, and it wouldn't solve anything. I have said over and over again in this thread and the other one about Rosie that what she said is wrong and that worse than that, her refusal to acknowledge it is even worse. If you'd listen to what the guy actually said, and what other posters in this thread have said, if there is any anger it comes from the refusal to acknowledge that hurt and wrong was done. Instead, the blame is shifted onto those who were hurt or those allies who point it out, by saying "You're oversensitive." That is what is really racist here.

l'll acknowlege racism when its present. l found no racist remark in ching, chang, chong danny devito...give us a break.
Yes, you've made that abundantly clear, much to my bewilderment. Why don't you ask some of the Asian women you say you've dated what they thought of the remark. Or are you still on speaking terms with any of them?
