A Question for Men

An "I'm interested in you" smile is very different to a "I'm just smiling at you because I'm affraid you're going to steal my purse, but I don't want to let on that you're spooking me out" smile or a "Why doesn't this guy just go away and leave me alone? Can't he tell that I'm just being nice, but can't stand him?" smile.

I love it when women smile at me though. Then I suddenly question the reason why she is smiling.

This is true about different kinds of smiles, at least for me.

In the context of the conversation I was having, "like" meant "I'm interested in you." That was a little disconcerting to me since I smile a lot at people trying to be friendly.
In my case, if I'm interested in a guy, I'm more likely to avoid eye contact with him and not smile because I get nervous/flustered. I'm such a dork:rolleyes:

lol, but do you make sure that the boy sees that you are avoiding eye contact with him so that he knows you are interested but shy so that he will come and talk to you?

LOL...how am I suppose to let him know I'm shy but interested if I won't look at him? Maybe this is why I'm still single...:p

Ah, the art of eye contact, always a tricky one!! It's all about catching the persons eye then quickly looking away all flustered and red faced, that'll do it!!!

haha... I think I've done that actually, definitely the red faced part.

I have heard that a little glance, followed by looking away shyly, then looking him right in the face and smiling...I've heard that works well...never tried it though, I was too shy. Thank God my husband made the first move a few years ago.....and on the phone at that! :p

When I was in high School I used to hope that when a girl smiled at me it meant she liked me. It was hard enough just to say Hi to a girl. WHat I hated most is when a girl would look at me and wave and it would turn out she was waving at someone behind me. OOOOHHHH I Hate That!

Can I ask a similar question? I've been told by several guys that every time they look at a woman, no matter what she looks like, they take a second to imagine what she'd be like in bed. Is this true, or do I just hang around with hoplessly perverted guys?

I am a guy and I do not do that. Your friends are hopelessly perverted. :D

Today I was told by a man I respect and trust that whenever a woman smiles at a man, he thinks she likes him. My question is, is this true?

I think I know what he means - maybe it's a knee jerk reaction; but logically, I know it cannot be tue - I try to smile at strangers walking down the road, to get them to smile. They don't know me, nor I them......it would be illogoical to think..ye Gods! I am starting to sound like Mr Spock............:cover:

That depends on what made her smile. :flirt:

Its not the smile that makes me think they like me at all. Its when they undress me with their eyes as they gaze lustfully in my direction. Hey, it could happen! Lol, jk. No, just cuz a woman smiles at me I do not think they like me, they usually just think I'm retarded, I know my wife reminds I am every day, just in case I forget. I love people who smile, though, I try to smile and be nice to everyone around me, makes for a pleasant life, eh?
