For a long time now I've had a 'soundbite' on my opinion of Religious science vs 'normal' science. I was just wondering what people's comments were on it, and how accurate do you think it is. Can things like be summed up neat and tidy like this?

It's correct except for the apostrophes. I think I've heard that somewhere before.... Anyway well done on thinking of it; it's short and sweet and easy to understand, which is always helpful in Canada.

I like it, I think it's true. Mythology was created to explain natural phenomenon. The tornado was the answer, and the question could be a God sneezing

Actually hes right, perhaps the term should be translated to describe evolutionists and creationists who do fit those criteria.

oooh, clever... It's kind of a hard topic to wrap up in a phrase. Well put though. Yet i think i'd be more eager to agree with the statement if you replaced the word "Religion" with the word "philosophy".

Asking the right questions is every bit the mark of a good scientist that finding the correct answers can be. Not to mention there are many religions who put a great deal more stress on having the right 'answers' rather than asking questions. (at least it seems that way at times)

Perhaps it could be also be said - Science is the examination of the observable details while Religion is the exploration of an infinite whole? </giggles.. ] i think i just made it worse rather than better.

I reject it as baseless and thoughtless.

I concur with Yi-Fu Tuan that religion is "the impulse for cohesion and meaning". Far from being intrinsically deceitful or manipulative, this impulse manifests itself in humanity at its best, while the overarching character of religious activity is both sincere and reverent.
