idolatry, worship any formed thing as equal to the Unformed Informer. worshipping an aspect, facet above another is respecting one form above/below another. the Infinite I cannot be defined as this vs that but this and that.

Thank you.

How about the book of Daniel? How does that relate Jesus and the abomination of desolation?

In Jesus' final sermon on the Mount of Olives He refers to the "abomination of desolation"

Mathew 24:15-16
"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:"

What does this mean?:)

The prophet Daniel described "an abomination that causes desolation" and Jesus also prophesied in reference to the writings of in the Book of Daniel "an abomination that causes desolation"

It is better to check them - so as to better understand what is "the an abomination that causes desolation" - Daniel will be first:

Daniel 9:26-27 New International Version (NIV)
christnailedoncross.jpg

After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”

And then what the Lord Jesus Christ said:

Matthew 24:15-22 New International Version (NIV)
roman1.jpg

“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

Did you read the article you linked to? It was the ending of the Jewish state that occurred in 70AD, not the beginning of the diaspora. If you are familiar with the epistles, Paul et al were traveling around and meeting in Synagogues throughout the Mediterranean area prior to the sacking of the second Temple, Jews were all over as the diaspora started around 722BC when the Assyrians scattered the ten northern tribes.

Yep. But I was referring to the 70 AD where the 2nd temple was sacked and destroyed by the Romans which the Lord Jesus predicted also:

Matthew 24:1-2 New International Version (NIV)

Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

Correct, and now we are in the times of his prophecy concerning his second coming.

It is a reference to a (false) throne being on holy ground in Jerusalem and a 'person' will sit on it and claim to to be the God of the Bible.

2Th:2:4:
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God,
or that is worshipped;
so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The abomination in Da:9 is a reference to all the abominations done in the 3 1/2 years after the cross. This one from Daniel if the one that relates to Matt:42.

Da:11:31:
And arms shall stand on his part,
and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength,
and shall take away the daily sacrifice,
and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

M't:24:15:
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation,
spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place,
(whoso readeth,
let him understand:)

Re:13:14:
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;
saying to them that dwell on the earth,
that they should make an image to the beast,
which had the wound by a sword,
and did live.
Re:13:15:
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast,
that the image of the beast should both speak,
and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

I agree that a specific meaning of 'the abomination that causes desolation' is the destruction the second temple and Jerusalem.

The link to the Jewish website is useful regarding the diaspora. However this event took on a who new level of intensity after 70 AD and was to continue until the Jews returned to their homeland after WWII. That process began in 1844 with the signing of the edict of toleration.

A study of Matthew 24 is useful in that the processes around the fall of the Jewish people and the rise of the Christians with accompanying persecution has parallels with the return of Christ.

So what do these verses in the book of revelation mean? What will it all look like?

So what are the signs of is coming? How will we know?:)
On so many levels....presumably it is now like in the days of Noah....the world had never in recorded history witnessed the moral decadence of today ....and military weapons of mass destruction....and science wrt cloning, robotics, cyborgs, androids, etc. .....politics wrt globalization, one world government, etc.

As to the precise day, no one knows...be awake and keep the oil up to those lamps... :)

The creation of Israel is a Rothschild project rather than it being God.

How much clearer than seeing somebody sit on a throne in a temple in Jerusalem would you like it to be?

The destruction that God causes on His return has to be faked by Satan.

Not sure how that fits with Daniel 9:24-27 or Matthew 24.
Matthew:24 has to do with the bruise to the head from Ge:3:15 and the Gospels cover the conclusion to the bruise to the heel from the same verse. Da:9 is not the right chapter, Da:11 is.

Don't forget fallen angels again becoming the kings of the earth. The head wound that is healed is that fallen angel being given back the same authority he had before the flood.

Oil in the lamp means some will make it through the 42 month deception and some will lose faith before that period of time is over.
