Actually I agree with you. But until young women (and men) stop doing stupid things I want a clean, freely accessible, and at least paramedical facility that they can go to without question. I say this after knowing of a young woman who bleed to death after a botched back-room abortion in my neighborhood when I was a teenager many years ago. Now I have a beautiful grand daughter. God forbid she does something stupid, gets pregnant, and wants not to have they child. If this ever becomes the case I want her to be able to go to a doctor with knowledge and equipment then some chain-smoking old hag with coat hanger and garden hose. And please don't play 'it's a baby' card on me because I will always love my grand daughter more than any unborn fetus.

Actually, I would love to see abortion illegalized as a means of contraception. I would not say that there aren't appropriate reasons for having an abortion, but I am certainly willing to get this behind us so that it stops being a determining factor in politics.

I think it's time to move on. It's time to hand over judgment on this matter to God.

I honestly can't think of any. Please note that I did not say that I thought there were appropriate reasons for having an abortion. What I said was, "that I would not say there aren't appropriate reasons for having an abortion". I am leaving the possibility of appropriate reasons out there, in case they do exist. But I must say, I can't think of any appropriate reasons for having an abortion. Each person can find justification within their own minds for the deeds that they do. I can not say whether any of their justifications will be truly justified in the end. That's not my call.

Certainly, I would have a great deal of compassion towards this child, but you are certainly bringing up a situation where some people feel justified in killing an innocent child. Perhaps a better idea to abortion would be to smash the infant after it is born in the presence of the rapist.

Not really. I just don't think there are any good reasons to have an abortion. I'm happy to leave it at that. But if you'd like, you may continue to present various hypothetical situations to see if they could lower my standards with regard to purposefully killing an innocent human life.

Judgements, not opinions, are imposed on real crimes. Perceived crimes, by definition, haven't been proved.

I'm not sure what your point is here. I'm just trying to see whether Sonofason's position is consistent with what he's said so far. I don't really care whether it's consistent with what you think he should be feeling.
