Adam and Eve

Fallen Prophet

Well-Known Member
Both Christians and Muslims believe that God created Adam and Eve as the first humans on earth. Are we to accept this as LITERALLY meaning that God created ONLY one man and one woman or are we to believe that it is figurative in expression and God actually created many men and women (100s or 1000s or even millions)?
I believe that Adam and Eve were actual people that literally existed - yes.

Why is your creation myth literal, and everyone else's creation myth not?
Well - I just claimed that I believed that Adam and Eve were literal people - so it wouldn't be accurate for me to define their story as a "creation myth".

You could ask, "Why do you believe that your Creation story is literal, and everyone else's creation myth is not?"

Anyways - I don't know why people have "creation myths" that they do not take literally - you'd have to ask them - but it might be because they refer to them as "creation myths".

But it IS a creation myth. If it were any place other than the bible, you would recognize it as a creation myth right away.
