What will happen to me after I die?

As in what will I experience?

What should I expect?

What is the basis for your answer?

It depends.

There's an interesting part in The Book of Gates where in one section of the Duat (Underworld) some people who couldn't let go of their earthly selves and lives, who put too much stock into these things, are staring into a lake. The lake shows them their lives and they are obsessed with it; but their faces are burned, because the lake burns them, erasing their identity and therefore their attachment to their self. They are purified and allowed to continue their journey in the Duat or be reborn. Those who were not so attached in life and conquered their 'burning within' are allowed to keep their memories, because they are/were not obsessively attached to their selves.

Who knows. Perhaps prepare for or think of as many different scenarios as you can, including nothing.

For fun and my own amusement, I like to think of something trying to deceive me or trick me and get me back to Earth.

The same as what you experience under heavy anesthesia. Basically non-existence is what I expect.

From being under anesthesia there is no consciousness going on at all. No sense of time passing. One moment you exist, the next you don't. Until you do again.

I don't know that there will be another conscious moment after death. If so, I suspect you'll just find yourself as another person with another life with no memory of what came before.

So even if there is some kind of "spiritual" transfer. You'll be another person anyway so the you now will not any longer exist.

I believe it's like being under general anesthesia. I would like to believe each person "exists" and our existence lives when we are conceived and the brain grows. Inwardly, that's kind of how I see it but I haven't had personal experiences to confirm something like that is true. It makes me think of souls (if one likes) waiting in line to be born.

I agree with NT Wright on what Scripture teaches on this. It is not about your soul zooming off to heaven when you die - that is not biblical.

"Wright absolutely refuses to compromise Christian belief about the raising of Jesus bodily from the dead and the great hope for us that follows from this belief. The raising of Jesus from the dead does not transport kingdom expectations into the next life; the resurrection of Jesus fixes the kingdom of God more surely within human history. The material universe is not a transit area through which we must pass on the way to becoming pure spirit. For Wright, resurrection faith is not about life after death; it is about life after life after death. He takes the scriptural language about a new creation in the offing with utmost seriousness."

After you die you will go to God and experience God's Unconditional Love. It is a Love so complete and feels so good you would do anything for it. It is a Love that heals all hurt. You will understand that it has never ever been about punishment.

This is the point of judgment. When you experience God's Unconditional Love, you will want to be just like God. You will see where you are and where you need to be. You will judge yourself.

Who knows how long one basks in God's Unconditional Love. At some point kiddies must return to school to further learning and growing. One is born into a new physical body. The journey continues.

Life is about Living!! You should never worry about dying. Dying is no more than a change. Since you are on this side of the fence, Make your own choices. Define who you are. Touch the lives of all those around you. You are not done painting your Masterpiece. Look around you. There is so much yet for you to do.

What is my basis? It's the Math!! I have spent years and years studying God's actions. Piece by piece I put the puzzle together. At some point I received the Visit and the confirmation. Sometimes those who seek find what they are searching for. On the other hand, few things in life worthwhile come easy. As with everything, Discovery takes work!!

That's what I see. It's very clear!!

You sleep (John 11:11-14; Daniel 12 2,13), i.e., “Rest In Peace”, until the Resurrection. Acts of the Apostles 24:15

I disagree :)
`
Well, disagreement is allowed.

But what are you disagreeing on ?

The fact that cognizance exists, or cognizance leaves a dead body ?

Or...the `soul` is the .......whatever you think.....the end is the end.

I think the spirit goes free into another dimension of existence,

to merge with all the other spirits that are already there,

to become more Stuff to generate more Life.
