Age differences?

Watcher

The Gunslinger
It really depends on the couple. There is this guy though *shudders* that is only eight years older then me and wants to date my mom! Ewwwww..... Sorry, when the guy is closer in age to me then he is to my mom I just have to put my foot down. He has the maturity of a 12 year old. Thankfully though, my mom doesn't like him.

Other then that though, I have no problem with it:D .

What do you think of a much older person marrying a much younger person? Is love possible between the couple? Should they be lined up against a brick wall and shot for their romantic folly? What are their chances? Is a fifteen year difference between a couple too much? What about a 25 year difference?
My now ex-wife was 14 years younger than me. There are many differences that you try to cover with similarities (just like any relationship). If you have a lot in common you should be fine.

I always reminded her when we started getting serious that men tend to die before women, and that I would feel guilty leaving her alone for 14 years plus (unless she remarried).

My father second wife is the same age as his oldest child. Kinda' wierds us origional batch of kids out, but hey they have been together more than twenty years. They must be doing something right.

So, this is a real question for me. Are you so sure that age makes no difference?
If she has a problem with the age difference between you then, yes, age does obviously make a difference. It doesn't have to.

If two mentally and emotionally mature and stable people love each other, go for it.
This is what mitigates the torrid love affair betwixt TVOR and his wife. I am not sure that we can consider him either mature or stable! :D

No*... a second thing we agree on, what's even more important, it's the second time you've been right! ;)

Love is not dependent on the age of the couple. My wife is a mere five years older than me,
but I would love her no matter what her age. Now, she sorta kinda wishes that I would hurry and grow up, but I don't think that's happening in this lifetime! :D

BTW, it is a proven fact that women marry men hoping to change them, while men marry women hoping that they will never change. Niether succeed.

NetDoc -
I have to take offense at this post, as I once worked for a farrier - in a stable! That's what you get for pre-judging me without knowing my past.
As for the "mature" part, I throw myself on the mercy of the court!

Ashamedly,

I dated a gentleman 11 years older than me.
We had similar views on religion and politics.
We loved each other but he still was not ready to settle down in his 40's. :)

Feh, now that I have finished my gaudy metal costume and green cape, I will finish my conquest of the world...and when it is renamed Planet No*s, we will see whose counting we use.
