Out of curiosity, are there any conservatives here who are a fan of Alex Jones?

Me...also fan of Paul J. Watson (InfoWars Europe)
Well...it just shows how low certain élites have stooped.
Silencing opponents...

Well...Alex will get more followers after this

YouTube removes Alex Jones' page, following bans from Apple and Facebook

Looks like his mouth caught up to him.

Several years ago I visited InfoWars.com and after about an hour developed a serious 3 alarm headache. I had never witnessed such a collection of insanity all in one place. Then I saw references to lizard aliens and my brain shut down. Since then, I have been very vocal about Alex Jones and associated nuttery and warn people to stay away from him(them).

Several years later I went on documentary binges and on my favorite site, at the time, I quickly learned that you have to pay attention to the credits, as Infowars had several very high quality "documentaries" that were pretty slick productions. I recall being about 20 min into one when out of the blue, the InfoWars logo appeared. I instantly stopped the video and went back to an extended run of epic fails videos.

The main point is that Alex Jones is not a conservative. He is a conspiracy nut, through and through, that does not really cater to any political theme. Just 24/7 whack-a-doodle..

Edit: That said, I'm not sure how I feel about banning him and his ilk. Maybe it's better to just keep them in the open with large neon warning signs.

A private company has "stooped" to enforcing their long standing policies? Jones was removed for violating the same rules that all other users have been subjected to. I thought conservatives support a business' right to deny service based on moral convictions? Besides, Alex Jones is so fringe and repugnant that this shouldn't even be a "left vs. right" issue. Do you actually believe his preposterous, convoluted conspiracy theories, such as the suggestion that school shootings don't actually occur but rather are "false flag" hoaxes and that the children who've survived are just actors who deserved to be harassed and threatened? This is about principles rather than partisanship, or are you admitting that standing up against hatred and slander is exclusively a liberal thing?

Not all conservatives are conspiracy nuts, nor are all conspiracy nuts conservatives, but Alex Jones most certainly is a conservative. He is after all a staunch supporter of conservative parties, politicians, polices, platforms, etc. He's even good buddies with Trump, apparently.

I oppose censorship and support free speech myself, but given that this is a private company rather than the government that's shutting him down, well...
Besides, he still has twitter and other available platforms.

An hour? I admire your stamina. The short clips I see on videos about him are more than enough for me. Though for people to upload them they would have to watch Alex first. I too feel that my brain would start to melt if I watched him for too long.

If there is, it needs to be put in America's water supply.

I remember listening to the ever loving, Paul Harvey, and I'll miss him til I die. Then came Rush Limbaugh, who was so awful that I wondered why the Government (FCC) allowed him to broadcast his obvious ridiculous hatred. At the time, I was just floating in the very toxic, fundamentalist, evangelical, Republican pond. It seems clear that the government is failing and our Oligarchy is going to allow it; blaming the Unions and Snowflakes.

And before anyone gets confused, Facebook, Apple, Spotify and YouTube are not part of the government.

Hate Speech Legislation is a gag order that they ALL will use on whomever they please, TBD. They start out going after what looks like the usual crack-pot, to the goatherd. But the sheep know better, and will defend your right to say whatever you please, if you allow us to do the same.

Which begs the question... what sort of mental weaklings need that Hate Speech Legislation, anyway? Why do they need the sort of brainwashed indoctrination that makes you afraid to say anything about everything? And what are they doing that they don't want talked about, even by cracked pots? Aren't they in a position to stand up, yet, and say, Yeah, we did, so what? The only reason for gag orders is so that people in the know don't give away the game, before it's so far along that it can't be stopped.

"'Ye may not, therefore, fear them, for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed, and hid, that shall not be known; that which I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light, and that which you hear at the ear, proclaim on the house-tops."--Jesus, Matthew 10

You don't seem to understand. This is not "Hate Speech Legislation". All three are private companies that can make their own rules. As long as their rules do not break any laws then it is rather difficult to complain about their actions. As for profit corporations they can recognize that certain types of speech can be harmful to their profits. It is not unreasonable for them to not allow it on their platforms.

On YouTube at least Alex got himself kicked off. He had just earned a strike which temporarily halts his ability to do live broadcasts. Instead of going through the process and appealing the strike he went around the rules and live broadcast through an alternate channel of his. That was an extremely clear breaking of the rules and allowed YouTube to immediately ban him. On YouTube he might still be there if he had just followed the rules.
