fluffy...it goes back to the sexual thing. men are very attracted to breasts for whatever reason and flaunting them is practically inviting rape...i know, its an oxy-moron, but still.
Bull. This is digusting to read.

I don´t hear "oh but he was topless" as a valid excuse for raping males. It´s sexism to say it´s okay to rape women for that reason.

If a guy can´t control his penis, then he can just get it removed.

I agree with Maesi, to a point. I don't think removal is a good thing. That's just scary...

man have you seen some of the gross looking people
One time at Arbys, some very obese woman, Id say around 250-280, in her late 30's, came in wearing a tub-top. Even the lesbian manager who likes girls who are a bit chunky was disgusted.

Scared by a threat of losing yourself?
Taking care of some important morning business might become just a bit difficult.

I know that this comment was not directed at me, but I had to make a quick statement here... Please quote exactly where someone said it was ok to rape women for any reason... It is really bad to put words into peoples mouths... Its even worse to put THOSE words into someones mouth... You should be ashamed:tsk:

" .........and flaunting them is practically inviting rape".......
I don't think Jamaesi was puting words in someone's mouth - perhaps you could retract your comment ?

Urm I agree that men are very easily stimulated visually, probably moreso than women, but I disagree that this therefore means they will act on their urges. Additionally, if what you are saying is correct, rape crimes should be much higher in nudist areas and this simply isn't the case.

People look better in clothes, yeah, unless it's a special situation, man have you seen some of the gross looking people, imagine them with no clothes..........No thanks Dude.
Whilst I respect your point of view, I do not find the human reaction of disgust a reasonable basis for making something illegal. If I did then I would be forced to condemn homosexuality, black people, Islam, Christianity and a host of other people all because some people find it disgusting.

Furthermore I view such a response as representative of a problem within the mind of the one who voiced it. In other words, it is those who are disgusted who are creating the problem, not the object of their disgust, and therefore the onus is on them to solve the problem in their heads not to try and make others fit in with their head.

Look at it in this situation... If I said the following...
"Walking through a bad neighborhood at night is pratically asking to get robbed."
Would you agree that it means this....
"If you walk through a bad neighborhood at night it is alright if you get robbed."

If not, then the two statements of
"Flaunting breasts is pratically inviting rape"
and
"If you flaunt your breasts, it is ok if you get raped"

Those do not equate either... Yet Jamaesi is making the claim that they are the same statement... Surely you can see how they are different? (Note, I am not saying I agree with the origional statement at all, just saying that by no means did the origional statement say that it was ok to rape women.)

Why is the woman's chest such an issue? We see topless guys parading around, and it is legal to do so. (And makes the girls happy)..but if a female goes topless in the street,
it's indecent exposure and other women aren't happy.

In G rated shows why can a male go topless and not a female?

What is the big issue?
As much as it will shock most everybody here, I've often wondered the same thing.

Me too. In fact, I believe that such a thing is unconstitutional. In the Constitution, does it not say that women are to be granted all of the rights shared by men? That means we have the right to go topless if we so choose.

At my high school football games, the guys are allowed to be shirtless and paint their chests, but the girls are prohibited from entering the stadium if they're wearing even just a sleeveless shirt....so we all just wear sweatshirts over our 'real' shirts and take them off once we get in. Are we a bunch of sluts, or are we being oppressed?

A couple weekends ago was our homecoming dance. The principal, Sister Katie, made a point to call the girls to the gym to talk to us about our dresses--they had to be modest and such, because "we have to account for the hormones of the other members of this school who are not present!" Yeah, very funny Sr. Katie. What I want to know, is why do the girls have to "dress modestly" when its the guys problem? Why do we have to sacrifice our dress options because boys have trouble controlling their hormones? I say the days when women compensated to solve men's problems are over! Bring out the low-cut dresses!

To be quite frank, so am I, but I explained why - I was 'pre-conditioned as a child - it is natural.

I see your point; however, I think it too 'clinical' - the theory is fine; I just can't see it happening................

I do not think rape is ever okay or deserved. I just think that it is a safety issue for women. I don't know if it should be a law, though..women are allowed to walk down dark alleys by themselves in bad neighborhoods, so why shouldn't they be able to make the decision whether or not they want to show their boobs?

But, i still think it should be illegal because I do think that it is considered indecent exposure. Boobs are, in this society, a very sexual body part and often related to a lot of perverted things. Nobody should be forced to see something that is such a sexual thing if they don't want to...and i just don't think mens' chests are quite as sexual. I don't know though...maybe if it was legal, it would lose its sexual-ness and wouldn't be a problem anymore...but that would be sooo sad!!

And a century ago an exposed leg was considered provocative. Styles change. "Decency" changes. Provocative is whatever you're not used to.

Yeah, I know...but if we get used to seeing them, they will lose their provacativeness, just like legs kinda did. If we don't keep anything private, wouldn't it start to lose it ssexual appeal? and wouldn't that be a bad thing?

I'm not quite sure how you're defining "sex appeal," Meesh, but unless its loss induces complete impotence i wouldn't think of it as a bad thing.

Many tropical peoples wore little or no clothing and no harm seemed to come of it.
