So, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior. The reason being, the worst thing he did in my opinion is whip some people. I have been stabbed with pencils and prison shanks, punched many times, broken bones, and various other injuries, so I don't really care much if someone whips me. I'm sure it isn't that bad, and we don't actually know if he inflicted much injury on anyone during that outburst of anger.
So, we should not whip people, unless your partner needs it to get off. But it isn't that bad imo
Another thing that Jesus did that p**ses me off, is he said things that make people think, non-Christians go to Hell forever. That is psychopathic, cruel, sadistic, vicious nonsense, and a huge insult to God!
According to the New Testament, I'll actually go to heaven most likely. Check this out:
Matt 25
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
That part about everlasting punishment is stupid if it means everlasting torture. I don't want to spend eternity worshiping a cruel psychopath. But I volunteered in the ghetto of Saint Lukes Mission of mercy where I gave Jesus food and clothing.
I gave Jesus money. I showed kindness to Jesus in other ways by caring for a dementia patient, feeding the hungry at a Franciscan Friary, volunteering in nursing homes, and at the humane society.
I try to be kind to people, and love my enemies. I even love ISIS fighters and Taliban. I just hate what they do and believe they should quickly be put out of their misery.
Romans 13:8-10 New International Version (NIV)
Love Fulfills the Law"
8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”' and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”' 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law
So, I'm all about love baby!
Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Okay, so I'm cool with all that. It looks like I'm saved! But I'm not going to approve of the Bible when every fiber of my being tells me that some of it is extremely ****ed up and misleading! I can't oppose Theocracies like Saudi-Arabia, while at the same time stating, "The Bible is without error", which promotes similar harsh policies.
So, when Scripture doesn't violate the golden rule and doesn't have every appearance of being asinine, I'm okay with it.
I like the Rosary, studied Marian apparitions, and pray to Mary and other souls in Heaven. Some Christians think this is evil, but every Christian Church on earth was doing it century after century for over a thousand years before the man-made invention of Protestantism condemned the practice.
Nothing in the New Testament condemns the practice, and in fact, the Old Testament didn't either. The Old Testament condemned the summoning of spirits from Sheol and holding Seances. This is because there is the possibility of summoning an evil spirit. This practice is different than calling on a heavenly being for help. But chances are, these Christians don't even follow the Old Testament, or they would stone adulterers and people who work on Sabbath, so they should stop using an outdated text to condemn anyone.
But some Christians think I will go to hell for asking souls in Heaven to help me. Ah well! I also study and practice some of Shintoism, and some Christians think I'm a satanic cesspit for doing so.
But I do make fun of God. I also make fun of my biological Dad, despite loving him dearly at the same. I'll say blasphemous things when the law of charity tells me God doesn't follow his own law, and is very unkind to people. I think God's decision to remain silent, and leave so many people confused and in agony, is thoroughly disgusting! Unless of course, God is a weakling and unable to do anything because his hands are tied, then it's not the poor, hopeless wonder's fault afterall!
Muslims usually think I will go to Hell if I reject "The messenger of Allah". I oppose "the messenger of Allah" with every fiber of my being, and think he possibly harmed our world more than any other person to exist.
Here is what will happen to me:
Quran 5:33- “The punishment of those who oppose Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”
(22:19)
But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads
So, I don't love a God who does that to my worst enemy. Just put people out of their misery quickly if it is necessary. Any torture or mutilation is unwarranted, cruel, and psychopathic imo. A Muslim told me, those tortures are curative and purifying. Allah will only cut off my hands and feet, douse me with boiling water, crucify me, or burn me because he loves me and must cure me of my wickedness (its like surgery).
If that is who God is, it is a terrible thing to have been born for many of us. I don't think any compassionate person wants to spend an eternity worshipping a cruel, vicious, sadistic psycho!
Also, the opinion that those tortures are only temporary isn't supported in the Scriptures, and many people believe the tortures are eternal. So, who knows if either of them are correct.
Some Christians just believe I'll be tossed into a lake of fire and cease to exist. I'm in many ways okay with that, because I don't want to exist for ever, if I don't find the God I'm worshipping for eternity to even be likeable!
What is your opinion of the afterlife and hell, and where do you think I'd go if I died today, knowing what you know? Where would you go if you died today?
