Not quite. Work availability, skills and qualifications play a big role. It's not an entirely free market.
The way things work is you get a job, learn skills, get experience, get promoted for your hard work, get paid for your work. If you think you’re being treated unfairly you’re free to apply to a different company or an opportunity may come your way. For example if youre working in a trade, you work for a number of years, be an apprentice, take your test and pass, get a Master’s, take some business prep classes and take the test, get licensed and start your own business. Then you can run your business, hire and pay your employees well, correct the injustices you see by doing things different.
