Who likes riddles?
One of the ways God communicates his will or purposes in the Bible is through riddles. One of the reasons to do this is to obscure the meaning of the prophecy.
There are some hard to understand prophecies in Daniel. A really good book explaining some of the deep meaning in Daniel's prophecies:

This is a thread that is going to deal with some very exciting information from Daniel concerning a king that will understand "ambiguous sayings," who he is, and what will happen at that time.
This is but a humble servant's understanding of these things, through prayer and meditation and holy spirit. If the understanding is correct time will tell. Interpretations belong to God. And he reveals things at his own time.
