You are standing on a pier. Below you your pet is drowning and a human stranger is drowning. Who do you save? Why?

It's political, so it depends.
- If It's Obama drowning, I'd save him....so that I wouldn't have to throw Biden it too.
- If it's Biden drowning, I'd save my pet.
- If I didn't know who is drowning, I'd save them.

Is the pet pedigree? :D

In the USA at least you don't have a choice -- if you see someone in distress like that and ignore them you can get in trouble. You might as well have pushed them in, so not really a choice here. I fail to see how this is related to this forum at all.

I really don't know. It's entirely possible I would go for my pet. Or try to save both in one way or another.

What kind of animal would be kept as a pet that cannot swim? And WTF are you doing on a pier with an animal that cannot swim?

In my state of panic I'd probably choose the person... I'm usually more concerned about not hurting others than not hurting myself (at least emotionally =P)

If it came down to a choice between saving my dog or cat or an adult human stranger, I would save my dog or cat before the adult human stranger, however, if it was a human child or infant I would have to default to saving the child or infant before my pet. I cannot tolerate seeing a child suffering.
