All threads on this Forum posted by theists are based on the premise that there is a God up in the sky and that everything in the Bible is true.

Speaking for myself, I do not believe that there is a god in the sky or anywhere else for that matter and that the bible is a work of fiction.

This being so ... or as close as damn is to swearing so ... how do we debate? Theists base their belief almost solely on faith and nothing more. I base my non belief on facts & reality.

Do we require or need proof? Of course. Obviously neither side can prove that they are right.

When you ask an atheist why a member of their family died so young, they answer: " Well they had a heart attack, a stroke or they had cancer."

When you ask the same question of a theist and add: " Why did your god allow one so young to die?" They invariably answer: "Well God/Jesus called them to his side because he had a plan for them."

Like any so called god would have a plan for a still born baby?

Sorry I don't find your initial premise to be true.
I actually find a lot of room for debate.

Not saying there aren't die hard Atheist and Christian around. However there are a number of folks more moderate in their thinking.

False

You don't. Why bother? They're wedded to their position no less than you're wedded to yours..

Okay.

To their own satisfaction they do.

When you ask an atheist why a member of their family died so young, they answer: " Well they had a heart attack, a stroke or they had cancer."
All of them ?????

When you ask the same question of a theist and add: " Why did your god allow one so young to die?" They invariably answer: "Well God/Jesus called them to his side because he had a plan for them."
So what?

Like any so called god would have a plan for a still born baby?
This is one a Christian will have to answer.

Wow, talk about stereotyping theists into dullards that are easy for your attack. Hang out here a little more and you will understand other people more.

You should read more threads.

That's good, but something tells me you'll start speaking for the rest of us any minute now...

I'd be willing to bet you believe one or two things at least that have nothing to do with facts or reality.

Do we require or need proof?

No.

Of course.

Oh... so much for speaking for yourself... told ya...

Obviously neither side can prove that they are right.

Is it really that obvious?

When you ask an atheist why a member of their family died so young, they answer: " Well they had a heart attack, a stroke or they had cancer."

Are you still speaking for yourself, here? Also, a theist might say the same thing.

When you ask the same question of a theist and add: " Why did your god allow one so young to die?" They invariably answer: "Well God/Jesus called them to his side because he had a plan for them."

INVARIABLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I'll have to start saying this since its been dictated by the factual reality of facts and reality. Obviously.

Like any so called god would have a plan for a still born baby?

So-called has a hyphen. That's a fact. Really, it is.
