I'd really like to know.

A year ago my wife and I were at Keukenhof. We've also visited such places as Sissinghurst in Kent. The Huntington is beautiful, and we're members of the Chicago Botanic Garden. But what is the best? I'd really like to know ...

Thank you. We're seriously thinking about Alaska via BC for our next vacation (probably in June or July). I will not forget your recommendation.

Again, thanks ...
If you're going to be in BC anyway, you might want to visit the Nitobe Memorial Garden. It's on the campus of UBC in Vancouver.

It's one of the few true Japanese memorial gardens in North America. It's very different from a typical Western garden, but I found it fascinating when I visited.

Thank you. I've very much enjoyed the Japanese Garden at the Huntington, and the one in Vancouver looks beautiful.

I love CBG! I visit at least once a week, and my younger daughter takes classes there (she's a future tree hugger :p ). It's hard to pick a favorite spot, but if I had to, it would be the Conifer and Waterfall Gardens.

Done here.
I wouldn't venture to guess what's the best, but if you ever get to South Carolina you might enjoy Brookgreen Gardens, as long as you don't mind your gardens with lots of sculpture. Brookgreen includes extensive sculpture gardens as well as a wildlife preserve, and is adjacent to Huntington Beach State Park, which is a little too wild for my taste, but many people enjoy it. I prefer to keep my distance from alligators. The Huntingtons used to own the whole area.

This is a fantastic book and can be bought in paperback (with lovely pictures) for under $10 on Amazon.

I'd recommend Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. It's huge. It has dozens of indoor and outdoor gardens, fountains, ponds, various buildings, performance spaces, &c, all meticulously maintained, as I recall.
Might take a couple days to appreciate it all.

Good pictures: http.//philadelphia.about.com/cs/photo_galleries/a/longwood_photos.htm

*^$%#@(&! -- link won't work. Can google, though
