What anatomical structures associated with pain do plants have?I think plants do feel pain. They are certainly alive, so they are killed.
This is the best I can pull up from my phone. Also can't do complex links: Do plants feel pain? What anatomical structures associated with pain do plants have?
How would pain benefit a sessile, largely non-motile organism? Why would it evolve a complex, useless capacity?
You're mistaking reaction to stimuli for perception of pain. Of course plants react to damage, signal each other, &c, but that's not the same as a mammal's conscious perception of pain. This is the best I can pull up from my phone. Also can't do complex links: Do plants feel pain?
It's been said many types of humans can't feel pain either. So what? Why be plant-ist?You're mistaking reaction to stimuli for perception of pain. Of course plants react to damage, signal each other, &c, but that's not the same as a mammal's conscious perception of pain.
LOL -- What 'types' of humans would those be?
