Is not the hope in your heart, one of many I admit, that society only recognize a marriage between man and woman? I can not understand why the most fervent of some RF members would fail to debate the issue in society's terms. The issue is " Same-sex marriage should be condemed by United States law".

What is in my heart isn't the point: what matters is God's opinion.

Nor am I mush interested in "society's terms," being mroe interested in God's terms.

Actually, the verse says to defend what's in your heart. God's opinion, expressed by God's word, is that the question should be answered in meekness and fear (another translation is "gentleness and reverence"). It would seem to compell an answer to the question of the proposed debate.

Oh boy, the Apologist's creed!!! (the word "answer" in this verse is the greek word "apologia", meaning to make a defense) I must confess that I appreciate your knowledge of scripture.

No. If I wasted my hope on something like that, I would be quite the dissappointed person don't you think?

I hope I can help you here. You see, while I do acknowledge that there are some that call themselves Christians that have this desire to turn this government and the rest of society into a theocracy, believe it or not, that is not the goal of most Christians nor is there any command to do so for followers of Christ in the Bible. To further emphasize this, here are a few of verses for you:
2Tim. 2:3-5
" Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldeier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules."

I hope this doesn't dissappoint you, but according to scripture, any true Christian shouldn't be getting involved in these sidetracking issues. Now, if you would like to carry on our current discussion in another thread, I would be more than happy to do so, but I am sure you will be calling this a copout or whatever, so if it makes you feel any better, hows this; Pah, you win buddy.
