Anti-Christ"Islams Awaited Messiah"

The title of this thread is actually the title of a book I recently read. The book goes into detail about the fact that there are many similarities between the Anti-Christ of the Bible and Islams Mahdi(Messiah). Here are some examples:

Bible-The anti-christ is described as riding a white hourse in the Book of Revelation.
Islam-The Mahdi is described as riding on a white horse.

Bible-The anti-christ is said to make a peace treaty with Israel for seven years.
Islam-The Mahdi is said to make a peace treaty through the Jews for exactly seven years.

Bible- The anti-christ and the false prophet will attack to conquer and seize Jerusalem.
Islam- The Mahdi and the Muslim Jesus will attack to re-conquer ahd seize Jerusalem.

Bible- The anti-christ will set himself up in the Jewish temple as his seat of authority.
Islam- The Mahdi will establish the Islamic Caliphat from Jerusalem.

Both the Anti-Christ and the Mahdi will be unparalleled politacal, military and religious leaders that will emerge in the last days.

Both will have a prophet as a secondary prominent figure that will support them.

Both will have a powerful army that will do great damage to the earth in an effort to subdue every nation and dominate the world.

These are just a few there are many more. I'am curious to know what peoples thouhgt on this are? Muslims and Christians alike. Do you agree with this thinking or think it is absurd? Before commenting on the subject I urge people to do there own research on the matter and come up with there own conclusion. To have an opinion on it one must have a pretty thorough knowledge of both the Anti-Christ and the Mahdi.
I'am not saying I agree one way or the other. I must say though the idea as a whole was a bit of a shock to say the least. I would love to hear people thoughts on this. It kind of throws a monkey wrench into the idea that we are all worshiping the same God.

Is it possible? Just food for thought.

Did you know that Islam has it's own "AntiChrist"? He is called The Dajjal. Google it.

My book took its title from that term. It's an SF novel set in the 27th century-due out in E-book in a few months from BooksforaBuck.com and in print from Blu'Phier a few months later.
Title: Sword of the Dajjal

Scott

Yes I am aware of that. I don't claim to be an expert on the Dajjal but from what I have read the Dajjal has suprising similarities to Jesus Christ. One of them being he will defend Israel against the Mahdi.

May be you could shed some light on the Dajjal for us? Or I guess I Google it like you said.

You should understand the order of the events in Islam:
FIRST the Mahdi comes THEN Jesus returns.

I am not a Muslim, I believe the Mahdi has come in May of 1844 CE in the person of the Bab, and Jesus has already returned in 1863 CE in the person of Baha`u'llah.

That makes me a Baha`i, not a Muslim.

The Dajjal is symbolic as is the anti-Christ. Anyone can function as the antiChrist or as the Dajjal simply by adamantly opposing and resolutely persecuting the fulfillment of the will of God. Doing that is futile however, since no man, group of men or exercises of human will can subert or delay the will of God.

Scott

Many of the similarities you've mentioned are not backed up by the Qur'an, or by authentic hadeeth. So i don't know how your argument (or the authors argument) can still stand, speaking on behalf of the Islamic perspective that is.

Well...I agree with champion..
We actually don't know many similarities of what you have mentiond IntroC..
We differentiate though between Mahdi, Dajjal and Jesus..
The 3 are separate persons

some muslims (for example me) do not believe in dajjal etc...
there is no basis for this in the Quran but you'll find ample literature in the hadith.

"Abe Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846
JFK was elected to Congress in 1946

Abe was elected President in 1860
JFK was elected President in 1960

The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters
Both were particularly concerned about civil rights

Both their wives lost their children while living in the White House

Both were shot on a Friday
Both were shot in the head
Both were in the presence of their wives when shot
The secretary of each president warned them not to go to the theatre and Dallas respectively

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy
Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln

Both were assassinated by southerners
Both were succeeded by southerners
Both successors were named Johnson

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939

Both assassins were known by their three names
Both names have 15 letters

Booth ran from the theatre and was captured in a warehouse
Oswald ran from the warehouse and was captured in a theatre

Lincoln was assassinated in the Ford Theatre
Kennedy was assassinated in a Lincoln (made by Ford)

To cap it all off, Booth and Oswald were assassinated before trial"

Coincidence? Probably.

Maro provided two very good links in another thread regarding the Madhi and the signs ascribed to his appearance.

http://www.islamworld.net/hour/index.htm

and

http://www.inter-islam.org/faith/Majorsigns.html#signs

Thanks Maro, and I hope this helps, IntroC

since , i am going to be asked by Allah about every single word i say about islam , and every single word in any link i provide

i want to make it clear , that i didn't check these links word by word , i only had an overall look , and i didn't find anything that makes me suspicious

but when the time allows , i will certainly do _ God willing _

Islam-The Mahdi is described as riding on a white horse.

In the Holy Christian Bible I always thought revelation Chapter19 versus 11-21, describe the creative heavenly being of the saviour????????????????????????????
