All omega oils are found in hemp, all B vitamins in hemp seeds. ;)

First off thanks for the advice, links and support every one. We have found cooking vegan to be very easy, and we had practiced before we went into it.

I'll be making and linking two new threads on veganism this week. one of misconceptions another just a list of our recepies.

All omega oils are found in hemp, all B vitamins in hemp seeds. ;)

it doesn't have b12, the only source i have seen of b12 that is not fortified has been some fermented foods and beverages. We do like our hemp protein though.....
Personally, I wouldn't even try to put small children on a vegan diet. Let them grow up a couple years and then switch them to it once they get off the formula and other baby foods. It's just too hard to compensate.... You should mine the Seventh Day Adventists (most of them are vegan), Indian Cuisine, and some Muslims are completely vegan or veg as well -- you can get a lot of food to eat just by going through their books that they publish for their adherents...
we want to give her eggs, milk, cheese etc. just to make sure she doesn't develop allergies and such. at the very least. she is breastfeed so no formula and were just starting her on cerals and in a few fruits and veggies. Most of her nutrition will continue to come from breast milk!

Marmite/Vegemite has B12 in as well. ;)

Yeah, I always have some Marmite in my cupboard. It's not something that everyone knows about, since it's somewhat unique to the UK and Australia. As @Iti oj said, there's some in fermented foods as well. It's only hard to get this vitamin because of the lack of bacteria in food which isn't a bad thing, all things considered, but it's a bit less advantageous if wanting to be vegan and as natural as possible.

If one is not opposed to fortified B12, there are so many options, it's no problem at all. Personally I have no problems with it but each to their own.

Well, I was talking with my wife and the Adventists don't allow young children (before they get their new teeth... age 7-8 whatever) to be vegan even if they are. (They raise their kids vege.. ) Apparently, it causes some problem where their teeth don't erupt right so they wait until a child is much older. I'm not sure vegan is what you wanna do if mom is still breastfeeding either -- just for same reasons.

Personally, I find living like a vegan unnatural because there is too much micro-management when you don't live in a culture with good cuisine choices. I think it is easier to be mindful of a few problem foods than it is to modify the entire diet. It makes sense to figure out what foods you eat that are unhealthy and modify those specific ones however. For example, I really like liverwurst but this is one of the highest cholesterol foods I know... You can have it, but you should never eat it regularly. :)

I'm a vegan, but I don't micro manage anything. I barely manage at all. I just don't eat animal products.
It's not rocket science.

the wife and i have been convinced of the logical superiority of the vegan ethical argument . that is not what this thread is about . were looking for advice on a vegan diet. the catch is it needs to be soy and gluten free.
If you don't want to go on the raw vegan diet and enjoy food (like me), check this channel out.

I've tried their Cauliflower wings and Potato Scalloped Salad (or whatever it is). They are sooo good!
