I know entirely how you feel, Noaidi. I have the exact same issues.
Have you been to your doctor about it?
All mine has said is, "You'll just have to deal with it". You can imagine how helpful that is.
Consider yourself officially diagnosed, albeit by a groundskeeper.I've not been officially diagnosed with it, but I'm sure I've got it.
I have to make sure I have switched everything off before I leave a room or the house. I need to go round and check everything is switched off at least three times and (here's the fkn crazy bit!) sometimes I'm not convinced, so I have to switch things ON again, then devote my attention to switching them off.
:bonk:
I need about 10 minutes before I leave the house to do all this. Occasionally, I've cycled all the way to work but have had to turn back to re-check everything is off. The thing is, I KNOW everything's okay, but it's that wee voice in my head that says "ahhh, but have you really switched off the cooker / toaster / heater etc?"

I suggest talking to a shrink.

Well....I have done groundskeeping for analysts, psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists, dentists & a pharmacy. Thanks for that. It's good to have a professional opinion on the matter
I don't think I do. I just fulfil my compulsions because it's easier than that nagging harassment. How do you deal with it yourself?
Wish I was there!Geez... even the doctors here, as crappy and half-arsed as they may be, have pretty good resources for those with OCD and other type of different mental programming.

What happens when you are denied the ability to check things like that? What if there is an emergency and you have to run out the door, or have someone pulling you out the door to go do something? How does it feel for you to not be able to complete your routine?
i have diagnosed ocd when on my adhd meds and i do not have it when off adhd meds.Is there anyone else who has OCD here?
Can PM me if you like.
