This is the early style of air blast (fuel injection method) because the primary stage of compressed air comes from the combustion cylinder. The 2nd stage is the small horizontal cylinder.

We pronounced that "Slut Six" 'cause she would lay in just about anything! I don't think any other engine can boast of being that reliable or pervasive except the Ford Formula Four block. That Ford engine found it's way to being in English, German and American Fords, Lotus, Morgans (for many years) and even found service racing! It was aspirated by downdrafts, up to four side drafts, a blower, turbo charged and even fuel injected. It even powered the flying Anglia in the Harry Potter series.
