Instead of a pendulum a wind up clock like this one will have a flywheel that spins one way then is reversed by a spring, and the time is kept by virtue of the fact that the flywheel always takes the same amount of time to change directions.

We pronounced that "Slut Six" 'cause she would lay in just about anything! I don't think any other engine can boast of being that reliable or pervasive except the Ford Formula Four block. That Ford engine found it's way to being in English, German and American Fords, Lotus, Morgans (for many years) and even found service racing! It was aspirated by downdrafts, up to four side drafts, a blower, turbo charged and even fuel injected. It even powered the flying Anglia in the Harry Potter series.Chrysler Slant-6 Engine
