Appearances of Jesus??

Another story has been in the papers about Jesus' face appearing on a drainpipe. So recently, it's been floor tiles, toast, naan bread, frying pans.

It got me wondering what people think about it?

Do you feel they really are images of Jesus? Or merely a stain, in the shape of something that could be made to look like Jesus if the person wants it to? Or do you beloieve it is all a joke and have been faked?

I'm sure some of them are faked. The money that can be made from such "artifacts" are incredible, and very tempting for some people. I've even been tempted to do so.

However, I think it is simply something very natural. It is just the brain trying to make meaning, or seeing the familiar, out of chaos and unfamiliar. The same reason that we can see birds or bunnies in the shapes of the clouds. I really see no difference.

No, it's Muhammed trying to come back and tell "hey, drawing me isn't THAT big of a deal".

Depends Upon My Mood..
When I look in the sky..in my case the Texas sky ..I can see sometimes for instance an "elephant" that the clouds made..That doesnt mean that there is AN ELEPHANT in the clouds!

Oh and to be real honest?

If you have to find Jesus in a greasy frying pan?

I mean come on!

the man on that picture looks more like a player from a Greek national soccer team I saw on tv last week then a Jew of middle eastern decent.

A similar image to the one in the OP appeared on the stonework fireplace of our 'haunted' farmhouse in 2004. We are sceptics about all things supernatural, in spite of the activity we encountered (it all stopped abruptly in January 2008), so we are still looking for a natural explanation. One thing I am pretty certain about is that such images are absolutely NOTHING to do with God.

It seems to be in the news often these days - they showed a list of all the 'faces of Jesus' that have been reported over the years.

With a lot of them I wouldn't be surprised if people create them for money, some I guess you can see what you want to see.

When I was little, I was awake on Christmas morning, waiting for my parents to allow us to come downstairs and there was a shadow on my door that I believed looked just like an old witch.

I think my life would have turned out quite differently had I really believed that the shadow was the face of a witch.

Is not going to save you.
That fact is we have no idea what Jesus looked like, so how can you see jesus in your frying pan if you don't know what he looks like.
