Arctic blast: This week could break more than 200 records across US

Reminds me of the movie, "The Day After Tomorrow".
In it, global warming causes the planet to enter a deadly ice age.
Didn't see it, but from the few clips I saw the science was as bad as some of the deniers here. Wasn't New York City threatened by a glacier in that movie?

The rise in global temperature really means an overall increase in the energy in our atmosphere. So it doesn't just mean that our temperatures get warmer (although, on average, they do). It also means that our weather events become more prolific and more extreme, including deep cold snaps.
Exactly, but some here much prefer to take their "science" from right-wing politicians than from scientists.

What? Me worry?

I just found that I could watch it on Prime video as part of my Amazon Prime membership. I might, just for a few laughs.

I noticed it was on HBO, too. I started watching the first few minutes the other day, but got sidetracked with something else. I might try again, although if it's really that bad, then maybe not.

You know global warming equals colder record-breaking Winters.

Of course it does. Same as coming out of an ice age transforms into global warming. This is the first ice age we've been around to come out of. FYI, in earth's history CO2 ppm and temps have been higher.
Now I'm not saying we don't add to it but it's a natural cycle to say the least.

I could use me some tomorrow....it's not supposed to be 3F in November.

The news....
When it's warmer than usual, it's proof of GW.
When it's cold, it's anomalous weather.

I find that amusing. Record cold is an anomaly while record heat is GW.
Is there such a thing as an anomaly with heat?

The polar vortex going bonkers is consistent with global warming.

No disagreement here.
But the things I hear in the media.
Here's another good one....
A show about engineering disasters had a segment about a building in Chicago.
It was painted red to mimic the color of the setting Sun over Lake Michigan.
Odd....
In Chicago, the lake is to the east.
One would see the Sun rise over it, but not set.

Along this line: Had a family member drive to an East coast beach to watch the sunset. I didn't even try to stop him...
