Please tell me what kind of human to human killing is not murder. Then tell me which ones are murder. You may cite the law, or your opinion, both will be fine here.

I think it is a matter of opinion. If someone believes in execution, then that person will not consider execution murder. What the killing of animals for food, some people will call that murder but other's don't. Even if you let someone die, and you could have saved the person- some may consider that murder.
In other words, I don't know if it is or not.

Accidentally killing someone is not murder.

Killing someone in self-defense, or in defense of yourself, is not murder.

How about state executions, is that murder to you?

No. Not legally, not morally.

Killing in self defense or defense of another: legal, and to my mind moral as well.

Abortion and acts of war: legal (for the moment, anyway), and may or may not be moral, depending on circumstance.

Murder is technically an unlawful killing, and there are many exceptions. From dictionary.com:
–noun1.Law. the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law. In the U.S., special statutory definitions include murder committed with malice aforethought, characterized by deliberation or premeditation or occurring during the commission of another serious crime, as robbery or arson (first-degree murder), and murder by intent but without deliberation or premeditation (second-degree murder).

Morally, I'd say unnecessary killings are murder. OF course, then you get into the sticky issue of determining necessity.

I don't really know what the definition of murder is. I like to think that killing anything is murder, but some murder if justified. Yeah? Murder's not always bad.

Would you think there is a majority consensus on this opinion? I personally agree with it myself, but wondered what others think.

Nah, I think many people who are against capital punishment, label it as "murder." Of course, I generally think when people rely on rhetorical language, that they haven't really thought their opinion through, and are basing it off an emotional response.

Suppose you were about to be tortured killed by an evil person much more powerful than you. Just when you were tied up, stripped naked and about to be skinned alive, God saves you by killing your assailant. Would you be angry at him> I would get on my knees and thank him.

The J.W.'s have a chapter of a book dedicated to showing why it is not wrong for God to kill someone. The book can be found online in audio format. Chapter six deals with this subject. You can open just that chapter (six) here:

They won't allow me to post a URL because I haven't made 15 posts yet, so you have to type in the www etc.

If there's a God, and he saves me from being skinned alive, I wouldn't be thankful. I'd think, "Damn straight, God. That's what you're here for."
