We can't act on will ? Have you ever met a Cat , Victor ? ;)

The thing is that under stress , most of us don't act on will . We react to a more instinctive impulse . As such , most of us really can not say how we will react , until the time comes .

I also think that it may be a mistake to put too narrow a defination upon something like Love . If we do , then we may have to admit that a large part of the human population may not know how to Love ? Perhaps none of us ? Not " selfless love " at least ????

If I do not act according to what I think is the right thing to do, it is still wrong in my opinion.

I adjusted it. It's important that you speak up. Otherwise, how am I supposed to grow? ;)

Well, the topic is delicate enough, I didn't want to be an upstart. =)

What topic isn't delicate? :)
I try my hardest to see this place as "educational".

I suppose that some people do identify more with animals than they do with other people. But so what? Maybe they have a reason that they feel as they do. I don't see that it's our place to be judging others this way. Everyone's life is different, and none of us have lived anyone else's life. We have no real sense of what other people feel or what's the best way for them to cope with what they feel.

The heirarchy of whom I would save, in what order, is normally quite clear: my daughter, my husband, other family members, any other children, any other adults, any animals. I would run into a flaming building to save as many as I could... normally. Now that I'm pregnant again, it puts an entirely different spin on things because if I'm injured or die in the fire, then my baby may die or be injured as well. I feel I would still try to save as many as I could, but the threshold of when I would stop out of risk to myself would be greatly reduced.

As I said, people have the innate ability to attach themselves to pretty much anything. I intended this thread (like I do the others) to talk about beliefs, ideals, issue at hand, etc. This is specifically done to stay away from judging individuals.
