Are babies, "enemies of God" in your faith tradition?

In the above video Stephen Lett (Governing Body member of the Jehovah's Witnesses) claims babies are, "enemies of God".

He immediately clarifies that he loves babies, but it is worth a good laugh seeing the theological clumsiness of one of 8 leaders of approx. 8.7 million people.

Which brings us to the question, are babies enemies of God in your faith tradition?

In my opinion

I have a youngie right now. I haven't seen her do anything to God, although she's got a habit of invoking his name when things go wrong.

(Puts her hand over her face and says 'Oh God' if something gets broken, etc. Copied from her older sisters reaction when the little one gets into her stuff...lol)

I respect Jehovah's Witnesses for their unique theological viewpoint in Christianity. Perhaps Stephen Lett may have been quoted out of context.

In the Hindu tradition, babies are considered similar to sages in that they live in the present moment which is the cause of their endless joy and playfulness. Unlike adults, babies vasanas or psychological tendencies in the unconscious are not yet fully sprouted and do not influence them into raag-dvesh (cravings and aversions) which is considered the root cause of all vices.

Had to think about how to rate this, gave you a like for your views on babies although I thought your suspicion it was out of context is a bit optimistic.

In my opinion.

I am a staunch believer in Evolution. I am a Christian.
So...whenever a Christian takes "Adam and Eve" seriously, well...I quit the debate...:p

When it is absence of parents because of job timings, vacation or parties, or children's tantrums or illness, my wife takes care of it. It is so all over India in joint families.

Yes. So are puppies, kittens, fawns, and koala bears.

Basically, anything cute and/or helpless that can't preach or proselytize yet.

Matt 19:13 Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. And the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Mary had the same problem when she'd call baby Jesus (not supposed to say Jesus).

I spoke with a PETA representative who wanted to save kittens. But kittens are carnivores (eat cows). Cows are peaceful herbivores. Doesn't it make more sense to save cows?
